Greetings and blessings,

You write to me that you are a disciple of the tzaddik* and great scholar, Rav Yosef Dushinski, and that you have given his name to your son, who shall have a long life.

You no doubt do all that is in your power to follow the ways advocated by this tzaddik* and great scholar, Rav Dushinski. Likewise, you show generosity toward others, in bringing them closer to Jewish practice. I would like to know in detail what you are doing in this matter.

You write that the situation of Jewish practice is very weak in your city. This justifies that the one who finds himself on the spot should employ himself to transform this state of affairs.

You remark that more brilliant emissaries are necessary to attain such a goal. My father-in-law, the Rebbe, explains, however, that Hashem does not lead a Jew into a certain place solely to assure his material parnasah*, but also to give him the means to provide for his spiritual needs.

A Jew must illuminate the place in which he has settled and resides. If you begin to act in this sense, if you really desire it, Hashem will confer success upon you, and you will be able to announce good news to me.

Enclosed you will find the sicha* of my father-in-law, given on Lag BaOmer*, which has just appeared. You will surely read it, and it will be useful to you for the avodas Hashem*.

ומה שכותב ,שהיהדות במקומו חלשה מאד ,זה גופא טעם מספיק,

שהנמצא במקום שבו היהדות חלשה ,יחזק אותה.

ומה שכותב ,שצריך שלוחים יותר טובים לשם כך ,הרי ידוע פתגם

כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,שהשם יתברך מביא יהודי

למקום ,לא רק כדי שתהי׳ לו שם פרנסה גשמית ,אלא גם בשביל פרנסה

רוחנית ,שיאיר את המקום בו התיישב ונמצא שם ,וכשיתחיל לעשות בזה,

ולעשות בחשק ,השי״ת יצליחו ,ויבשר בשורות טובות בזה.

מצו״ב השיחה מל״ג בעומר מכ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ

זי״ע ,שזה עתה יצאה לאור ,ובטח יקרא אותה ,וזה יביא לו תועלת בעבודת

השי״ת.
