To the distinguished man, communal leader
of multiple accomplishments, the benefactor,
Rav Moshe Lebanda,

Greetings and brachos*,

I received with pleasure the report of the visit made by my personal delegate, director of our European bureau of mutual aid, the great rav*, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself faithfully to communal needs, Rav Binyamin Gorodetzky[1], to Madrid.

I was particularly satisfied to learn of your positive accomplishments, carried out for the good of all. You and your wife placed a shul* at the disposal of the community. And you are now taking an important initiative, by installing a kosher kitchen there. You reserve, to that effect, a house suitable to this need, in the center of the city.

It is surely unnecessary to describe the merit and the mitzvah* that constitutes seeking the good of all, in particular in the fundamental domains mentioned in the Mi Shebeirach[2]: "Those who set aside batei kneses* for tefillah*, who give bread to guests." Their reward is immediately defined by this text: "HaKadosh Baruch Hu* will reward them, will grant them brachah* and success in everything they undertake."

I wish, nevertheless, to formulate a wish and to recall that everything that lives must develop. It will therefore be the same for your positive actions, which you will multiply in all domains, for the greatest good of all. You will strengthen Torah and Yiddishkeit* for those who live in your city and for the young students[3].

Hashem does not remain in debt. Undoubtedly, He will multiply the brachos for you and confer upon you success, material and spiritual, in your communal accomplishments and in your personal concerns.

I would be particularly satisfied to receive other good news of what you are accomplishing.

שימח אותי לקבל דו״ח מבא-כוחי האישי ומנהל לשכת העזרה

האירופאית שלנו ,הרה״ג והרה״ח וו״ח אי״א נו״מ עוסק בצרכי ציבור

באמונה וכו׳ מוהר״ר בנימין שי׳ גורודצקי ,אודות ביקורו במדריד.

נעם לי במיוחד לשמוע אודות עבודתו החשובה לטובת הכלל ,שהוא

וזוגתו תחי׳ הקדישו בית-הכנסת לטובת הקהל ,וכו׳ ,וכעת לקח עצמו

לעשות תיקון גדול בקהילה ע״י יסוד מטבח כשר ,ולמטרה זו הקדיש בנין

מתאים במרכז העיר.

למותר להאריך בגודל הזכות והמצוה להיות ממזכי הרבים ,ובפרט

בכאלה ענינים חשובים כגון אלו ,הנזכרים בתפלת מי שברך -מי

שמייחדים בתי כנסיות לתפלה כו׳ ופת לאורחים כו׳ ,שמתן שכרו בצדו -

הקב״ה ישלם שכרם כו׳ וישלח ברכה והצלחה בכל מעשה ידיהם.

אך רצוני להביע תקותי ולהדגיש ,אשר כמו כל דבר חי ,גם העבודה

הטובה שלו תלך ותגדל ,ואשר יגדיל את מאמציו בכל הענינים לטובת

הכלל ,לחזק תורה ויהדות הן בין תושבי המקום והן בין הנוער הלומד.

הקב״ה אינו נשאר בעל-חוב ,והוא בודאי גם ישפיע לו בשפע ברכות

ויצליחו הן בעבודתו לטובת הכלל והן בעניניו הפרטיים ,בגשמיות וברוחניות.

מאוד ישמח אותי להמשיך לקבל עוד חדשות טובות אודות עבודתו.
