By the grace of Hashem,

2 Adar 5712,

To my close kinsman, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

HaRav Schneur Zalman[1],

I greet and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 26 Shevat, in which you speak of your visa and of those of the members of your family.

May Hashem grant that all proceed well, easily, and in its proper time. May He lead you to your true place of destination, as it is said: "Hashem prepares the steps of man and desires his way."[2] May you soon know calm and tranquility.

I would like to know how you celebrated 10 Shevat[3]. You have doubtless tried, and continue to try, to bring into your kehillah* all our brethren, the Bnei Yisrael residing in your city, at least those who are able to come. And who knows? Perhaps it was solely for this that Hashem led you to this place. Then, when you complete the shlichus* entrusted to you there, you will receive permission to go to that place in the world to which you must afterwards bring elevation.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ו שבט, בו מודעי ע"ד המצב בענין הוויזות שלו ושל ב"ב שיחיו.

הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שיהי' הכל כשורה ובנקל בעתו ובזמנו והשי"ת יביאם למחוז חפצם האמיתי כמ"ש מה' מצעדי גבר כוננו ודרכו יחפץ ויבואו אל המנוחה ואל הנחלה בקרוב.

אתענין לדעת איך עבר עליהם חגיגת יו"ד שבט ובטח השתדלו ומשתדלים לספח לחבורתם את כל המתאים לזה מאחב"י שבחנם הט', ומי יודע אולי רק בשביל זה הביאו הקב"ה למקום זה, וכשיגמור שליחותו בזה יתנו לו הרשיון לנסוע למקום עבודתו בבירור חלקו בעולם אח"ז.
