To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

zealous writer, HaRav Dovid Leib Mekler[1],

I greet and bless you,

I learned with great satisfaction that you are preparing to fulfill the promise made to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that of preparing for publication the continuation of his memoirs[2].

I was likewise pleased to see and read the first article of this work. I am all the more convinced that the continuation of this collection will be carried out at an accelerated pace. Thus the wish of thousands of chassidim* and ordinary Jews, who have long awaited the continuation of this sefer*, will be fulfilled.

It is unnecessary to emphasize the importance of these memoirs for Jews in general, and for those who take an interest in the history of Jews, of Judaism, and of Chassidism in particular. I wish simply to remind you of the great zechus* that constitutes such a work, and to wish you even more hatzlachah* than for the first volume.
