By the grace of Hashem,

To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Nachman [1],

Greetings and blessings,

The great rav*, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to communal needs and overflows with enthusiasm, Rav Efrayim Eliezer Yalles [2], has duly transmitted to me your donation for the benefit of the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak institutions, which bear the name of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and are directed in accordance with his spirit.

The great merit constituted by the support of these institutions is well evident, and has been clearly established elsewhere. One can, in addition, add that it takes on a particular importance in our era, after the terrible persecutions that have taken from us hundreds of thousands of sons and daughters of Yisrael*. The responsibility of each and every survivor is all the greater, since it now includes a portion of what was accomplished by those men and women who gave their lives to sanctify the Name of Hashem.

If the duty of each and every one is particularly great, when one compares this era to that which preceded it, how much more is this the case for everything that concerns the youth. For each child is a seed, a young tree which, when the time comes, will bear fruit and "fruit of fruit", until the end of generations. Their chinuch* and their protection, that they follow the path of Torah and mitzvos* while permeating themselves with the spirit of the mesorah* of Yisrael*, are therefore inestimable.

Whoever brings his assistance in this domain will himself receive an infinite reward. He takes part, in so doing, in the perpetuation and the development of the sons and daughters of Yisrael*, in their attachment to the living Hashem, through the Torah of life — of an eternal life, through a living and luminous Torah.

With my blessing for success and that you have the merit of giving tzedakah* with an open hand to every institution that acts in the spirit of the mesorah*,

גודל זכות החזקת מוסדות כאלו, מובנת ומבוארת, ויש להוסיף בזה, אשר בפרט בתקופה שלנו, אחרי השמדות הנוראות שנלקחו מאתנו עשיריות רבבות בני ובנות ישראל, הנה אחריות כל אחד ואחת משארית הפליטה גדולה ביותר, כיון שעל שכמם מוטלת גם כן חלק מהעבודה שעשו עד אז אלו שנתעלו בקידוש השם, ואם כל אחד ואחת גדול ערכי אחריותו כמה פעמים ככה בערך התקופה שלפני תקופה זו, הרי על אחת כמה וכמה בנוגע להנוער, אשר כל ילד וילדה הנה הם גרעין ואילן רענן שבמשך הזמן ישא פירות ופירי פירות דורות ודורי דורות, ובמילא חינוכם והשמירה עליהם שילכו בדרך התורה והמצות ויהיו חדורים רוח ישראל סבא, גדול ערכו עד אין לשער, וכל המסייע בזה הנה גם שכרו הוא עד בלי גבול, כיון שנוטל הוא חלק בקיום ובשגשוג בני ובנות ישראל, והתקשרותם באלקים חיים על ידי תורת חיים חיי עולם, היינו א לעבעדיקע תורה און א ליכטיקע תורה.

בברכת הצלחה ואשר יזכה לתת צדקה ביד רחבה לכל ענין הנעשה על טהרת הקדש.
