Greetings and blessings,
I have received your short letter, in which you inform me that you have organized a farbrengen* in ..., but your description was brief, whereas it should have been detailed. You said nothing about that which concerns one of my intentions in asking you for this farbrengen*. I wished that you recite there a chassidic* maamar*.
I have good hope that you have acceded to my request, but I would have preferred that you confirm it to me. If you did not do so out of misplaced humility, you will make up for it now. And no doubt the participants will not begrudge you for not contenting yourself with a single farbrengen* but for organizing at least a second one.
In keeping with what I told you at the farbrengen* here, those who assume the material direction of the institutions of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, also bear the moral responsibility for them, for such was the will of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.
This does not mean that these directors must have the final word in spiritual matters, which would result in disorder, but rather that they must be aware that the material situation of the institutions of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, also has spiritual import.
You must therefore demand of yourself everything that one can expect of someone who assumes the material responsibility of an institution belonging to my father-in-law, the Rebbe. There is no need to say more.

קבלתי מכתבו הקצר, בו מודיע אשר עשה התועדות ב... אבל קיצר במקום שאמרו להאריך ולא הזכיר מאומה ע"ד אחת הכוונות שהי' לי בהתועדות אלו, והוא אשר כת"ר שיחי' יחזור בהם ג"כ מאמר דא"ח, תקותי אשר בטח ממלא בקשתי זו ג"כ, אבל מה טוב כי יכתוב לי עד"ז בפירוש, ואם מפני עניוות שלא במקומו, לא עשה זה. הנה יעשה כזה עכ"פ עתה, ובודאי לא יהיו המתועדים ברוגז אשר אינו מסתפק בהתועדות אחת ורוצה לעשות לכה"פ בהתועדות נוספת כהנ"ל.
ומתאים למה שאמרתי לו בהתועדות כאן אשר המנהלים הגשמיים של מוסדות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, הנה הם ג"כ מנהלים רוחניים, כי זה הי' רצון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר. ואין הכוונה בזה שתהי' להם דיעה מחלטת בענינים רוחנים ובמילא יהי' בלבול הסדר, אלא שהם ידעו אשר הגשמיות של מוסדות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זהו ג"כ רוחניות, ובמילא כל מה שיכולים לתבוע ממנהל רוחני של מוסד כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר צריך לתבוע מעצמו (מאנען פון זיך) המנהל גשמי וכו'. והאריכות אך למותר...
