By the grace of Hashem,
23 Iyar 5712,
Brooklyn,
To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
devotes himself to communal needs,
and bears a divine mission,
Rav Yosef[1],
Greetings and blessings,
I have indeed received your letter of 19 Iyar, in which you inform me that Rav M. HaCohen Shayevits has accepted your proposal[2] and has become the president of your shul. Enclosed you will find a copy of the letter I am sending him.
May Hashem bring it about, in the words of the verse, that "he rejoice in you and you in him," with the joy of the Torah, the mitzvah*, and tefillah*, which are the three pillars on which the world stands. Thus your shul will be a model of Chassidus*, conforming in every respect to the customs of the Arizal*.
On the occasion of the festival of Shavuos*, which is approaching, I extend to you my blessing, in the formulation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe: "Receive the Torah with joy and depth."
I am surprised at not having received a reply to the letters I sent you previously.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"ט אייר, בו מבשר אשר הר"מ שי' הכהן שייעוויטש נעתר לבקשתם וקיבל עליו הנשיאות בביהכ"נ שלהם ומוסג"פ העתק מכתבי אליו, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר כל' הכתוב ישמח הוא בהם ו[י]שמחו בו בשמחה של תורה ובשמחה של מצוה ושמחה של תפלה שהם השלשה עמודים שעליהם העולם עומד, תורה עבודה וגמילות חסדים, ואשר יוכל הבית הכנסת שלהם לשמש דוגמא לבית הכנסת חסידי נוסח אר"י בכל הפרטים.
ולקראת חג השבועות הבע"ל הנני בזה לברכו כנוסח כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
לפלא שלא נענתי לע"ע על מכ' הקודם אליו.
