Greetings and blessings,

I have learned from the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself faithfully to communal needs, Rav Yehuda Tzvi Fogelman, that you have undertaken the construction of houses in Worcester, which you intend to resell. You request a blessing that all should go well and for satisfaction from your daughters.

When I find myself at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I will read your request for a blessing, so that your requests be granted.

Nevertheless, you yourself understand, and there is no need to remind you, that it is necessary, in order to receive the blessings of Hashem, to forge receptacles capable of containing them. These belong to the Torah and the mitzvos*. To the extent possible, they should be commensurate with the blessing whose need you express.

In this case, in order that you may build and sell houses successfully, you must reveal success in your own house, which must be pervaded by a spirit of yiras Shamayim*, in the most literal sense. You must study the Torah on a fixed schedule, conduct your home on the path of the mitzvah*, with yiras Shamayim*. The more you make the appropriate efforts to introduce success into your dwelling, in the spiritual dimension, the more you will know success in the houses you build, and the greater your material profit will be when you sell them.

Moreover, it would be good to commit yourself even now, certainly without making it a vow, to set aside a certain percentage of the profit from this sale for the benefit of a cause of tzedakah* that involves yiras Shamayim*.

Hashem will help you and bless you so that you may conceive pleasure from your daughters — a Jewish pleasure — and that you may also be satisfied with yourself.

הנה כשאהי' על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אקרא את הפ"נ למילוי בקשותיו,

אבל בטח מבין מעצמו ולמותר להעיר בזה אשר בכדי לקבל ברכות השי"ת צריכים לעשות כלים המתאימים לזה, שהם הכלים דתורה ומצות, ואם רק באפשרי הרי הכלים צריכים להיות מעין אותם הבקשות אשר זקוקים אליהן, וכן גם בזה הנה כדי שיהי' בנין הבתים ומכירתם בהצלחה, צריך הוא להמשיך הצלחה בביתו הוא, היינו שיהי' ביתו חדור ברוח של יראת שמים כפשוטו ממש שיהי' לו שיעורים קבועים בתורה, ואשר ביתו יתנהג בדרך המצוה וביראת שמים וככל אשר ירבה בהשתדלות המתאימה בהצלחת ביתו, היינו ברוחניות, כן תרבה הצלחתם בהבתים אשר בונה ויגדל הריוח הגשמי במכירתם לאחר זה,

נוסף על זה, הנה מהראוי, אשר יקח על עצמו עתה - כמובן בלי נדר - אשר כשימכור הבתים הנ"ל בריוח, יפריש מזה לצדקה מספר אחוזים (פראצענטער) ובלבד שתהי' הצדקה קשורה בענינים של יראת שמים, והשי"ת יעזרם ויברכם לקבל נחת מבנותיהם, אידישן נחת און פון זיך אליין אויך.
