To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself faithfully to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I would like, by the present, to draw your attention especially to the festival of Shavuos*, the days that follow it, and those that precede it. These should be devoted to spreading the Torah among the members of the kehillah*[2], in particular among the youth.

The Midrash Rabbah relates that the children were the guarantors of the giving of the Torah, that Hashem transmitted to the Jewish people thanks to them. No doubt you still have time to make all the necessary preparations, and I do not mean only as regards what concerns you. For you surely have acquaintances in other shuls, especially those near your residence[3].

You must see to it that, in those as well, the days of Shavuos* be used in this manner. I thank you for announcing to me good news on this matter.

בזה באתי לעוררו בקשר עם חג השבועות הבע"ל, והימים שלפניו ולאחריו, בענין התעוררות מיוחדה בנוגע להפצת התורה בין בע"ב ובפרט בין הדור הצעיר, וכמבואר במד"ר שהילדים הם שהיו הערבים שעי"ז החליט הקב"ה ענין נתינת התורה לעם ישראל, ובודאי ישנו עוד זמן לעשות ההכנות הדרושות לזה, ואין כוונתי בזה רק אליו בלבד, כי בטח יש לו ג"כ השפעה והיכירות בעוד בתי כנסיות, ובפרט אלו הסמוכים למקום דירתו, ולכן לראות אשר גם בהם ינצלו את ימי חג השבועות הבע"ל לתכלית זו, ות"ח על שיבשר טובות בזה...
