To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Shlomo[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letters of 23 and 25 Iyar. When I receive the parcel of sefarim*[2] of which you speak in this letter and the one you mention in the previous one, I will let you know. I thank you in advance for what you have done in this domain, and I hope that you will continue the effort in this sense.

You speak, at the end of your letter, of a doubt concerning the books printed in Livorno and in Yerushalayim. It seems that this is indeed a doubt and not a satisfaction[3]. Nevertheless, this doubt has no place, for it is established that Livorno and Yerushalayim are indeed important cities of publication for the Sephardim.

I extend my blessing for success in your sacred mission, which will also be the channel and the receptacle for arousing and internalizing the blessings of Hashem in all your needs, as well as those of the members of your family. And you will receive the Torah with joy and depth.

בנועם קבלתי מכתב[י]ו מכ"ג וכ"ה אייר, ולכשתתקבל החבילת ספרים שמזכיר במכתבו זה וגם במכ' הקודם, יודיעוהו, ות"ח מראש על טרחתו עד עתה, ובקשה רבה גם על להבא.

ומה שמסיים במכתבו שמסתפק הוא בענין הספרים שנדפסו בליווארנא וכן אלו שנדפסו בירושלים ת"ו - וכנראה שמסתפק הוא מל' ספק ולא מלשון סיפוק - אין כאן מקום לספק, כי גם ליוואראנא וירושלים הם מקומות דפוס חשובים של הספרדים, וכידוע.

בברכה להצלחה בעבודתו בקדש, שזה ישמש ג"כ צנור וכלי להמשכת וקבלת ברכות השי"ת בכל המצטרך לו ולכל ב"ב שיחיו ולקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות,
