Greetings and blessings,

I have indeed received your letter of 25 Iyar, and I was pained to read in it that you have reduced your activity at the yeshivah*, because of the small number of its talmidim* and because there exist other difficulties, veils, and obstacles.

You must consider all this as a test that Hashem sends you. If you overcome it, you will see the fruit of your efforts and, within nature, you will know a supernatural success. To be sure, one must pass through all the actions imposed as a necessity by the laws of nature[1]. But one must also be aware that the final outcome is supernatural.

You were able to see that this was the case in the actions you led for chinuch*, where you lived previously[2], then when you were in transit at Pocking[3], then in Paris and in Brunoy. It will therefore be the same in the country where you find yourself now. One must not let oneself go, and you must be certain that there too, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, will obtain the victory.

If you envisage your action in this perspective, the yeshivah* will know elevation, from time to time, and your work will be entirely different. I await your good news in this domain.

קבלתי מכתבו מכ"ה אייר, ונצטערתי לקרות בו שרפו ידיהם בענין ההתעסקות בהישיבה בראותם שמספר התלמידים נתמעט, וישנם עוד קישויים והעלמות והסתרים, ועליהם להביט על כל הנ"ל אשר מנסה ה"א אתכם וגו ' . ואם יעמדו בנסיון הרי יראו פרי טוב בעמלם והצלחה בדרך למעלה מהטבע בטבע, ואף שדרוש לעשות כל הדרוש ע"י טבע, אבל - לדעת שסו"ס ה"ז ענין שכללותו למעלה מדרך הטבע, וכמו שראו בפעולותיהם בשדה החינוך בהיותם במדינתם לפנים ואח"כ בעברם בדרך - בפאקינג ובנסעם בפאריז ובברונא, ובמילא גם עתה במדינתם יהי' באופן כזה, ובפרט - ניט אפלאזען זיך ולהיות בטוח שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר וועט אויספירען גם ב... וכשיגשו בהנחה זו לפעולותיהם הרי מזמן לזמן יתעלה ענין הישיבה, וועט זיך גאר אנדערש ארבעטען, ואחכה לבשו"ט בזה...
