By the grace of Hashem,

To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Eliezer[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I have indeed received your letter of 24 Iyar[2]. May Hashem grant that the promise be fulfilled according to which "death will disappear forever and Hashem will wipe away the tears from all faces."

You will find enclosed a summary of what I said to those who presented me with their condolences, on 19 Iyar[3].

In anticipation of good news on the state of health of your wife and your own, I conclude by extending to you my blessing to receive the Torah with joy and depth.
