Greetings and blessings,
I received with pleasure your letter of 21 Iyar, after a long silence by which I was pained, not knowing the cause. You describe, in your letter, your difficulties and the various obstacles with which you are confronted. But Chassidus* says that there are only veils and obscurings here, which one must overcome, by causing evil to retreat, in order to reveal the Light of Hashem in all worlds.
One must therefore not be affected by all this. On the contrary, one must rejoice, as is explained in chapters 27 and 31 of Tanya*, which you will consult.
In these days, we are preparing to receive the Torah, and I therefore conclude my letter with a blessing, in the formula of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that of receiving the Torah with joy and depth.
May Hashem grant that you illuminate your circle in this manner, enlightening them with "the candle (which) is a mitzvah* and the Torah (which) is light," as well as with the luminary of the Torah, which is Chassidus*.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מכ"א אייר, אחרי הדומי' הארוכה שנצטערתי עלי' מבלי ידעי ברור הסיבה לזה, ות"ל אשר כפי שכותב שלום לו ולכל ב"ב שיחיו, ובטח למרות מה שכותב במכתבו ע"ד הקישויים ההפרעות השונות שיש לו, וכפי המבואר בתורת דא"ח [א]"ז אלא העלמות והסתרים שניתנו כדי להתגבר עליהם ולאכפיא סט"א אשר עי"ז יתגלה יקרא דקוב"ה בכולהו עלמין, ובמילא אין להצטער ע"ז כ"כ, ואדרבה יש מקום לשמחה, וכמבואר בתניא פרק כ"ז ול"א יעויין שם.
ובימים האלו דהכנה לקבלת התורה הנני בזה לסיים מכתבי בברכה - בנוסח כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע - לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר כת"ר שי' יאיר גם את סביבתו באופן זה להאירם בנר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.
