Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1615 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 6 · Letter 87

By the grace of Hashem,

3 Sivan 5712,

Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessings,

I received your request for a blessing. You write that you are not in good health, that you suffer in particular from migraines.

When I find myself near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I will mention your name, so that you may be in good health. In a general way, one suffers from such pains by force of reflections and agitation. You must therefore strengthen your trust in Hashem, Who created the world and directs it. He is also the Master of all that concerns you. It is therefore useless to devote so much time to meditation. It is certain that He will do what is good for you and will give you better health. The more you reinforce your trust in Hashem, the more quickly you will heal.

Obviously, you must maintain your conduct on the path of the Torah and the mitzvos*, and even intensify it — that is, devote to tzedakah* sums larger than those that you were already giving, read each day a chapter of Tehillim*, recite the Shema* Yisrael before going to sleep.

It would also be good for you to check the mezuzos* of your house, to make sure that they are all kosher.

In anticipation of the good news that you are better and that you will be still better, I wish you a joyous festival of Shavuos*.

For the Rebbe shlita*,

the secretary,
