To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Duber,[1]

Greetings and blessings,

I received in its time your letter of 7 Nissan, in which you mention the cataloging of the manuscripts belonging to the collection of your grandfather, the great Rav and chassid* Ch. Y. L. E.[2] Since then, I have not had any further news, although you specified that this cataloging would be begun immediately after Pesach*.[3]

You surely know that many manuscripts are being printed at the present time. At times they contain errors, and when it is possible to compare them with other manuscripts, one quite often obtains a more precise edition.

It would therefore be good to do all this[4] as quickly as possible. Of course, the shipping costs will be at my charge, and you will, in addition, have my gratitude.

מכתבו מז' ניסן בעתו נתקבל, בו כותב ע"ד סידור הכתבים מעזבונו של מו"ז הרה"ג והרה"ח מוהרשיל"א זצ"ל, ומאז לא שמעתי ממנו מאומה, אף שכתב שמיד אחר חגה"פ יתחילו בעבודת סידור הכתבים וכו'.

בטח נודע לו שהולכים ונדפסים כמה ענינים מכתבי יד, שלפעמים יש בהם כמה שגיאות, וכשאפשר להשוות עם עוד כתב יד, הרי לעתים תכופות יוצא הדבר מתוקן בהרבה יותר, ולכן ההקדם בהנ"ל ישובח, ומובן אשר הוצאות המשלוח יהי' עלי לסלקם בצירוף ת"ח.
