Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1688 — Faith & Bitachon

By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of last Thursday, by which you inform me of your situation and of the pains you feel in your right leg.

You know that, spiritually, the leg alludes to tzedakah* and to emunah*.[1] Consequently, and despite your particularly difficult situation, you will strive to give tzedakah*. You will also strengthen your emunah* and your bitachon* in Hashem, Who "heals all flesh and works wonders."

Hashem will send you a complete healing. He will work wonders and will transform your state from one extreme to the other. The channel and the keli* to draw down these blessings[2] are a fixed time for the study of the revealed part of Torah and of Chassidus*, an observance of mitzvos* in the best possible manner.[3]

May Hashem grant you success and that you may give good news in all these areas.

שלום וברכה!

קבלתי מכתבו מיום ה' העבר, בו כותב ע"ד מצבו וכן ע"ד כאב רגלו הימנית.

והנה ידוע אשר רגל ברוחניות הוא ענין הצדקה וענין האמונה, ובמילא למרות מצבו הדחוק שנמצא הוא ביותר עליו להוסיף כח להשתדל ביותר הן בענין נתינת הצדקה וכן בענין האמונה פשוטה ובטחון חזק בהשי"ת הרופא כל בשר ומפליא לעשות, אשר ישלח לו רפואתו שלימה ומפליא לעשות להפוך את מצבו מן הקצה אל הקצה, והצנור והכלי להמשכת וקבלת ברכות אלו הם הקביעות עתים בתורת הנגלה ובתורת החסידות והידור בקיום המצות והשי"ת יצליחו ויזכהו לבשר בשו"ט בהנ"ל.
