Greetings and blessings,

I learned with pleasure, from the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, of many accomplishments, Rav Zalman Tuvya HaCohen[1], of the positive deeds you have carried out to obtain the enrollments[2], in particular, and to promote a good chinuch* in general, in order to draw the hearts of Yidden close to their Father in Heaven.

You know what the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya and the Shulchan Aruch, explains at the beginning of his sefer Torah Or. He states that when one performs a deed of tzedakah*, one obtains "a brain and a heart a thousand times more refined." Now, if this is so for material tzedakah, how much more so for spiritual tzedakah.

May Hashem cause this promise to be fulfilled completely in each of you. You will know success in your study of Hashem's Torah, both its revealed part and Chassidus*. You will learn it with yiras Shamayim*, and, in the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, you will grow up to be men who fear Hashem, Chassidim and lamdanim* in Torah.

I extend to you my blessing in honor of the festival of liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, who was imprisoned for his work, full of mesirus nefesh*, to strengthen Torah and Yiddishkeit*. The deeds of the fathers[3] are an indication for the sons, who are the pupils, a good sign, bringing a good mazal*.

בנועם נודעתי ע"י הרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ איש רב פעלים וכו' מוה"ר זלמן טובי' שי' הכהן מפעולתיהם הטובות בעת הרישום בפרט ובחינוך הכשר בכלל לקרב את לבם של ישראל לאביהם שבשמים, וידוע מה שכותב כ"ק אדמו"ר רבינו הזקן זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, בעל התניא והשו"ע בספרו תורה אור בתחלתו, אשר על ידי מעשה הצדקה נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, ואם בצדקה גשמית כן הוא, הרי על אחת כמה וכמה בצדקה רוחנית, ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שתקויים הבטחה הנ"ל בכל אחד ואחד מהם במילואה, ויצליחו בלימודם בתורת ה' הן בלימוד תורת הנגלה והן בלימוד תורת החסידות וביראת שמים וכלשון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, יגדלו להיות יראי שמים חסידים ולמדנים.

בברכת חג הגאולה, גאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ממאסרו בעד עבודתו במסירת נפש להחזקת התורה והיהדות ומעשה אבות סימן - טוב ומז"ט - לבנים אלו התלמידים.
