To my relative, the great Rav, distinguished chassid

who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal

needs, Rav Avraham Yehudah[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter of 2 Tammuz, with the request for a brachah* enclosed, as well as your previous letter. I will read the request for a brachah*, at an auspicious time, at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. These auspicious days of his redemption, the 12th and 13th of Tammuz, have a special merit, and the one whose joy we celebrate will therefore arouse blessing and success for those who are bound to him, that they may obtain the satisfaction of all their needs and those of the members of their family.

I also thank you for your condolences[2]. I enclose a copy of what I said to those who came to offer me theirs on 19 Iyar.

My mother does not know what has happened[3]. We are concerned for her health. I therefore ask all those who have learned the news not to write her anything about it.

As for the Chassidus* manuscripts that are in Paris[4], you ask whether there are, on the spot, young Chassidim capable of obtaining them[5]. They are refugees, located in a foreign land, and one should not, therefore, count on their influence.

Nevertheless, they have a good knowledge of the Chassidus* manuscripts, and they will surely be able to assist you, if you need their competence and expertise. You may address them directly, through our office in Paris[6]. A young man possessing this competence is the rav and chassid, Rav Hillel Pevsner[7].

It is appropriate, however, in this case, to ask your acquaintances who have influence in Paris to contact them. Perhaps it would be good, as a first step, to send these manuscripts here. The proceedings would be facilitated if you explain that the center of Chabad Chassidus*, to which these manuscripts belong, is here.

As every year, a pamphlet[8] has been published in honor of the festival of the 12th and 13th of Tammuz. You will find it enclosed. It will surely interest you.

I conclude my letter by extending my respects, greetings and wishes for good health, both to you and to the members of your family.

P.S.: You mention in your letter the saying "Every delay is for the good." I have been searching for some time for its source in Jewish literature. For the moment, I have not found it.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מב' תמוז - וכן הקודם לו - עם הפ"נ המוסג"ב, אשר אקראהו בעת רצון על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וגדול זכות ימי גאולה וסגולה י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל אשר בעל השמחה ימשיך ברכה והצלחה להמקושרים והשייכים אליו בהמצטרך להם ולב"ב שיחיו.

ת"ח על הבעת התנחומין שלו; ומוסג"פ העתק ר"ד מה שאמרתי למנחמי ביום י"ט אייר.

אמי שליט"א אינה יודעת עד"ז כי חוששים אנו למצב בריאותה ולכן בקשתי את כל אלו היודעים שלא לכתוב לה בהנ"ל...

בנוגע להביכלעך דא"ח אשר בפריז, ובשאלתו אם יש שם אברכי אנ"ש המסוגלים לעבודת השתדלות בענין זה, הנה מובן כיון שהם פליטים וגרים בארץ נכרי' אין לסמוך על השפעתם, אבל מבינים הם בביכלעך דא"ח ובטח יוכלו להות לעזר אם יוצרכו להבנתם ועקספערטיזע שלהם, ויכול כהדר"ג שי' לפנות או ישר אליהם ע"י לשכתנו בפריז, והאברך המסוגל לזה הוא הרה"ח מוה"ר הלל שי' פעווזנער, אבל אז בטח צריך להודיע למכירי כת"ר בעלי השפעה בפריז שיבואו בקשור עמהם, ואפשר הי' כדאי שיושלחו הביכלעך, בתחילה - לכאן, אם עי"ז תוקל ההשתדלות - בטענה, שבכאן נמצא מרכז חסידות חב"ד הכתבים השייכים לזה וכו'.

בקשר עם חגיגת י"ב וי"ג תמוז הבע"ל הו"ל קונטרס כמו בכל שנה ומוסג"פ, ובודאי יענין את כהדר"ג שי'.

ואחתום מכתבי בכבוד בפ"ש ולבריאות הנכונה לו ולב"ב שיחיו,
