By the grace of Hashem,

13 Tammuz 5712,

To the honorable donor, worthy of praise and distinguished,

a man of fine quality, communal askan*

full of zeal, who supports the tents[1],

crowned with generous conduct,

Mr. Yitzchok Elmaleh[2],

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter, to which was attached a copy of the address you delivered in shul during the festival of Pesach. Your warm words have, without doubt, penetrated the hearts of those who heard them and have borne their fruit.

On the occasion of the festival of liberation of 12-13 Tammuz, deliverance and salvation of the soul of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, we have published a pamphlet of the teachings of our master, the tzaddik* of the generation and foundation of the world. I send it to you and I am sure you will find much of interest in it.

I often receive letters and news of the work accomplished by the holy institutions Oholei Yosef Yitzchok Lubavitch[3] and of the kind interest you display in them.

Their founder[4], who gave them his name, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, has a special merit. He is the tzaddik*, foundation of the world, who confers blessing and success upon all those who take part in his sacred mission within these institutions. For "Yosef sustained the entire land" and "Yitzchok went out to pray in the field, before evening," while the forces of evil and "the other side" gain strength, chas veshalom*, wishing to darken "the sun and its sheath, which are Hashem Elokim."

Our Sages specify that Yitzchok prayed. Now, tefillah*, prayer, is of the same etymology as "one who repairs (tofel) a clay vessel," linking that which is made of dust of the earth to our Father Who is in Heaven.

Prayer, in its most literal sense, is a means of interceding on behalf of all those who give their participation, finance and develop the institutions he[5] founded in order to disseminate Torah and the fear of Hashem publicly, especially on these auspicious days, linked to his liberation and to the anniversary of his birth[6].

I have great hope that you will extend a charitable hand, as you have always done until now, and as you will continue to do in the coming days, to support our work, with the considerable powers Hashem has granted you.

In the hope that you will have much nachas* from your son,

And with my blessing that the work of your hands be fruitful, generally and specifically, materially and spiritually at once, and in expectation of your good news,

שלום וברכה!

קבלתי יקרתו בצירוף העתקה מדרשתו שדרש בביהכ"נ בחג הפסח, ודבריו היוצאים מן הלב בטח חדרו ללבות השומעים ועשו פרי.

בקשר עם ימי הגאולה יב-יג תמוז, גאולתו ופדות נפשו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע הוצאנו לאור קונטרס מתורת רבינו צדיק הדור יסוד עולם, שהנני שולח לכמ"ע שי', ובטח ימצא בו ענין רב.

מקבל אני לעתים תכופות מכתבים וידיעות מעבודת המוסדות הק' אהלי יוסף יצחק ליובאוויטש) ומהתענינותו הטובה של כמ"ע שי'. וגדול זכותו הקדוש של המייסד הגדול אשר בשמו דוגלים המוסדות הנ"ל להביא ברכה והצלחה לכל המשתתפים בעבודת הקדש, כי יוסף הוא המשביר לכל הארץ, ויצא יצחק לשוח בשדה לפנות ערב , עת שהקליפות וסט"א מתגברים, הי' לא תהי', ורוצים להחשיך הארת שמש ומגן הוי' אלקים, וארז"ל לשוח אין שיחה אלא לשון תפלה, תפלה ל' התופל כלי חרס, המתקן ומחבר כלי חרס עפר מן האדמה לבוראם אביהם שבשמים, ותפלה כפשוטו שהוא נושא רינה ותפלה בעד כל אלה המסייעים ומשתתפים בתמיכת והרחבת המוסדות שיסד להרביץ תורה ביראת שמים ברבים, ובפרט בימי גאולה וסגולה אלה, יום הולדת רבינו וגאולתו.

בטחוני חזק אשר מע"כ שי', כמאז כן עתה, ובפרט לימים הבאים, יושיט יד עזרה בעבודתנו בכוחות הנעלים שחננו השם יתברך ויתעלה.

באיחול קבלת רוב נחת מבנו שי'.

בברכת הצלחה בכל מעשה ידיו בכלל ובפרט, בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד, המצפה לבשורות טובות.
