To our friends, the Chassidim who fear Hashem

and to all those who cherish Torah and mitzvos*,

in the city of Chicago,

may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and abundant blessings,

The holy institutions of the Lubavitch movement, the central yeshivos* and the schools under its direction, the Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch* and its branches, are in an extremely fragile financial situation, which puts their existence in peril, chas veshalom*.

From the day of their creation, these institutions have known divine success, develop and grow, bear fruit and "fruit of fruit," which are candles, illuminating our brothers, the children of Yisroel, wherever they are. Despite this, they are at present experiencing a particularly grave financial crisis, which calls into question their continuity.

This situation makes the obtaining of special funding necessary. It has therefore been decided to launch in Chicago, exceptionally, a unified appeal for all the Lubavitch institutions previously mentioned.

I know the interest of our brothers, the children of Yisroel of Chicago, in general, and the Chassidim, in particular, in the grand undertakings of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. I know your deep desire to come to the aid of the institutions he founded. I have great hope that you will now extend to them a generous and supportive hand, in order to fill these terrible needs.

This obligation and this merit fall upon each and every one of the Chassidim of Chicago, who must bring their contribution, in the form of an exceptional participation, and persuade their friends and acquaintances to do the same. You will thereby ensure the success of the campaign and you will enable the survival of these institutions, their development, in the future, in order to develop and glorify Torah and yiras Shamayim*.

Those who contribute their assistance and aid will arouse, through this mitzvah* of tzedakah*, for themselves and for all the members of their family, the blessings of Hashem for the satisfaction of all your needs—children, health and material prosperity.

המוסדות הק' דליובאוויטש: מרכז הישיבות תומכי-תמימים והמוסדות העומדים תחת הנהלתו; מרכז לעניני חינוך והמוסדות העומדים תחת הנהלתו, מצבם הכספי רעוע למאד, ומעמיד, ח"ו, בסכנה את קיומם.

הצלחה אלקית חופפת על מוסדות אלו מיום הוסדם, ועדים אנחנו למחזה האלקי -הפרחת והתפשטות של המוסדות, הנושאים פירות ופירי פירות, שהם נרות להאיר לאחינו בני ישראל בכל מקומות מושבותיהם; אבל ביחד עם זה הנה המוסדות נתונים עתה במשבר כספי חמור הנוגע בעצם קיומם.

המצב הזה מכריח לחפש מוצא כסף יוצא מן הכלל, והוחלט לסדר בשיקאגא מגבית - עמוירדזשענסי - מאוחדת עבור המוסדות דליובאוויטש הנ"ל.

בידעי יחסם של אחינו בני ישראל בשיקאגא בכלל ואנ"ש דשיקאגא בפרט למפעליו הכבירים של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, וחפצם הפנימי לבוא לעזרת המוסדות אשר יסד, תקותי אשר גם עתה יושיטו יד עזרה ויד נדיבה למלאות מחסורם הנורא.

על כל אחד ואחת מאנ"ש בשיקאגא מוטל החוב והזכות להשתדל בעזר זה, הן בהשתתפותו בעצמו בסכום יוצא מן הכלל, והן בהשפעתו על כל מכיריו ומיודעיו בזה, לסייע על ידי זה להצלחת המגבית, ולאפשר את קיומם של המוסדות והתפתחותם על להבא, להגדיל תורה ביראת שמים ולהאדירה.

וכבר מובטחים כל המסייעים והמתנדבים, אשר מצות צדקה גדולה זו תמשיך, עליהם ועל כל בני ביתם שיחיו, ברכות השי"ת בהמצטרך להם, בבני חיי ומזוני רויחי.
