By the grace of Hashem,

22 Tammuz 5712,

To the Rav, chassid who fears Hashem

and assumes a sacred task,

Rav Shimon[1], the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received the three sefarim*, the Vayosef Shlomo, the Minchas Yehudah and the Likkutei Chazal[2]. I thank you very much for this gift. May Hashem grant the wishes of each one of us, and may He grant us our share in His Torah. May He increase our possibility and our desire to glorify the Torah, to magnify it, and to illuminate it through its luminary, which is its inner dimension.

This latter is, in particular, defined by Chassidus*, the teaching of our holy masters, especially in these dark days of golus*, when we need increased light to illuminate us by "the sun and its sheath, which are Hashem Elokim," until the end of our golus*, when the promise will be fulfilled that "the night will be as luminous as the day."

I enclose the pamphlet published for the auspicious days of the liberation of 12-13 Tammuz. May Hashem cause the clarity of these days to extend throughout the year, bringing increased strength and zeal for the study of Torah and the practice of mitzvos*.

And may there be fulfilled, in its spiritual dimension, the interpretation of our Sages that shechitah* is a means of drawing[3]—in this case, the nefesh habahamis* and the part of the world that one is entrusted with—toward the highest holiness, in order to build the Sanctuary of Hashem.

בזה הנני לאשר קבלת שלשת הספרים, ויאסוף שלמה, מנחת יהודא, וליקוטי חז"ל, ות"ח ת"ח על תשורתו זו, ויהי רצון מהשי"ת שימלא משאלות כל אחד ואחד מאתנו לתת חלקנו בתורתו ויגדל יכולתנו ורצוננו להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה ולהאירה במאור שבתורה זוהי פנימיות תורה, ובפרט כמו שנתבארה בתורת החסידות של נשיאינו רבותינו הקדושים זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובפרט בימי הגלות הזה חשך כפול ומכופל שנצרך עוד לתוספת אור להאיר בשמש ומגן ה' אלקים עד בוא קץ גלותנו ויקוים היעוד אשר גם לילה כיום יאיר.
