To the distinguished and honored donor, man of qualities,

who fears Hashem, communal leader full

of zeal, of many accomplishments,

crowned with generous inclinations,

Mr. Yitzchok Elmaleh[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of 21 Tammuz, and I learned with great satisfaction the joyous news it brought me. Indeed, a pious and Hashem-fearing director has been appointed for Otzar HaTorah[2]. Moreover, the effort of those who reject the Torah, who steal Jewish souls and turn them away from their Father in Heaven, has been uprooted and broken. I hope that you will preserve this firm attitude and will not permit them to raise their head again.

You tell me you are in doubt, for you fear that they may do you harm, chas veshalom*, on account of your battle against these people. You should have no fear of this. On the contrary, our Sages say: "One who saves a Jewish soul is considered as if he had saved an entire world." How much more is this the case when it concerns many Jewish souls whose salvation you have brought about. Your merit and your reward are considerable. Now, not only is the principal preserved for you in the next world, but you also consume its fruit in this one. You will therefore know blessing and success, in all your needs, as will your wife and your son.

Relying upon the affirmation of our Sages that one mitzvah draws another in its wake, and establishing the necessity of seeking elevation in everything connected to holiness, I am certain that you will redouble your strength and vigor for everything pertaining to your sacred mission. You will thus receive an increased blessing and success, in your communal concerns as in your personal needs.

I enclose a note published in connection with the festival of liberation of 12-13 Tammuz[3] of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which will surely interest you. For the conduct of the leaders and fathers must deliver a teaching to the sons and the talmidim*. Their mesirus nefesh* to disseminate and strengthen the lot of Torah and the Tradition of Yisroel was fruitful, and the festival of liberation is an auspicious day for Yisroel. The self-sacrifice of each one of us, even though it can in no way be compared to theirs, will have the same effect. The divine Light will thereby be strengthened in Yisroel, in your home, your surroundings, your community and your country.

שלום וברכה!

בנועם קבלתי יקרתו מכ"א תמוז, ונהניתי במאד מהידיעות המשמחות אשר בו, כי מינו מנהל דתי וירא שמים בעד אוצר התורה, ועקרו ושברו תעמולת החפשים, גונבי וגוזלי נפשות בני ובנות ישראל ומסיתים ומדיחים אותם מאביהם שבשמים, והנני מקוה כי תלכו בכוחכם זה ולא [ת]תנו להם תקומה.

ומה שלבו מהסס שמא ח"ו יזיקו לו בגלל מלחמתו כנגד המסיתים הנ"ל, הנה אל יחשוש לזה כלל, ואדרבה, כי הלא אמרו רז"ל המקיים נפש אחת בישראל כאילו קיים עולם מלא, ועל אחת כמה וכמה אשר השתדלות בהצלת כמה וכמה נפשות בישראל אשר כמ"ע שי' מתמסר לזה, הנה אין לשער גודל הזכות וגודל השכר שבזה, שהם מהדברים שלא רק הקרן קיימת לעולם הבא, אלא אדם אוכל פירותיהם גם בעולם הזה, להמשיך ברכה והצלחה לו ולזוג' ולבנו שי' בהמצטרך להם.

ונשען על מרז"ל שמצוה גוררת מצוה ומעלין בקדש, הנני בטוח אשר יוסיף מע"כ שי' כח ועוז בעבודתו בקדש, אשר עי"ז יוסיף תוספות ברכה והצלחה הן בענינים הכלליים והן בעניניו הפרטיים.

מוסג"פ רשימה בקשר עם חג הגאולה יב-יג תמוז של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר בטח תענין את מע"כ שי'. ומעשה נשיאים ואבות סימן לבנים ותלמידים, אשר כמו שמסירותם בהפצת והרמת קרן התורה וישראל סבא הביאה הצלחה וימי חגיגת גאולה וסגולה בישראל, כן תוסיף המסירות נפש של כל אחד מאתנו, אם גם אינה מגעת למעלת המס"נ שלהם, תוספת אור אלקי בתוככי ישראל, בביתו בסביבתו בקהלתו ובמדינתו.
