To the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter of 17 Tammuz, and I thank you for your important gift—the photograph of a letter of the Rebbe Rashab. You will find enclosed my letter to the one who holds the other letters, asking him to permit their reproduction as well. You will surely find the means to convey it to him in the manner that best suits.

I also thank you for the clippings of Shearim[2] relating to the 12th and 13th of Tammuz. I already possess the clippings of HaModia[2]. If such articles appear in the future, you will kindly send them to me. I thank you for publishing such articles in the newspapers. No doubt you will do likewise in the future.

Concerning the translation of Beis Rebbi into Hebrew[3], you should not wait until you finish the three volumes. When you have translated the first one, relating to the Alter Rebbe, you will send it here.

You should know that:

1. You have not yet told me anything about the price[4].

2. It would be good to inscribe, at the end of each chapter, the references that were used to write it.

3. You will surely type several copies, so that I may keep the one that will be sent here.

מכתבו מי"ז תמוז הגיעני, ות"ח בעד המתנה הגדולה פוטוגרפי' ממכתב כ"ק אדמו"ר מהורש"ב נ"ע. ומוסג"פ מכתבי לזה שנמצאים בידו שאר המכתבים בבקשה להרשות לצלם גם אותם. ובטח ימצא דרך למסור לו באופן היותר מתאים.

גם תודה עבור קטעים מה"שערים" ע"ד יב-יג תמוז וקטעי "המודיע" כבר יש לי.

ואם יהי' נדפס מכאן ולהבא בענינים כאלו בטח ישלח לי העתק ויישר חילו בעד פרסמו בעתונות מאמרים כאלו וגם להבא בטח ישתדל לעשות כן.

בנוגע לעבודת ההעתקה ללה"ק ד"בית רבי", הנה אל יחכה עד שישלים כל הג' חלקים, וכשיגמור חלק א' בנוגע לאדה"ז בטח ישלח לכאן.

וזאת למודעי, אשר א) לא כתב לי עדיין ע"ד המחיר, ב) כדאי שבסוף הספר יהיו מצויינים המקורים ששימשו יסוד לכל פרק. ג) בטח יעתיק על המכונה בהעתקות אחדות, בכדי אשר ההעתקה שישלח לכאן תוכל להשאר בידי.
