Greetings and blessings,

I cannot bear disputes, of whatever kind. Of course, one cannot make compromises in the essential areas concerning chinuch*. By contrast, in financial questions, one must reject controversy, which can lead toward the unenviable situation in which one applies oneself to defeating the other.

Chassidus* explains that one who wishes to obtain victory is ready for anything. And it is not so only in the realm of holiness. On the contrary, one who, under the sway of the forces of evil, desires to be victorious, can no longer be stopped.

It is therefore particularly necessary to employ all possible means to obtain what you need to work, without entering into disputes, without offending the other, and especially without giving of yourself to obtain victory at any cost.

... אין דעתי נוחה מענינים של מחלוקת באיזה אופן שיהי'... מובן שא"א לוותר על דברים עיקרים הנוגעים בחנוך, אבל בענינים התלוים בממון לבד, יש להזהר ממחלוקת, כי עלולה לירידה (אריינלאזען זיך) בתנועה של נצחון וכמבואר בדא"ח שמצד מדת הנצחון הנה אין כל מעצור, ואין זה רק בצד דקדושה, אלא אדרבה בלעו"ז כשנכנס בנצחון, שטעלט ער זיך ניט אפ פאר קיין זאך, ולכן כדאי להשתדל ביותר ולחפש כו"כ תחבולות שישיגו את כל הנצרך בשביל העבודה מבלי להכנס במחלוקת, ולא לנגוע אנרירען את האחר ובפרט עד כדי כך שילך במס"נ בכדי לנצח יהי' מה שיהי' ואחכה לבשו"ט ממנו בכל הנ"ל...
