Greetings and blessings,

I have just received your letter of erev Shabbos. It seems that you are once again discouraged! Why must you, unfortunately, weaken yourself by all these thoughts, all these undesirable reasonings? I have repeated this to you many times. It seems that this has had no effect on you, in conformity with the explanation that Likkutei Torah develops at the beginning of Parshas Shemini.

You must have the conviction that you will be wealthy, and it is not excluded that you already are, given the disorder that reigns at your home[1]. But you do not know it. Nevertheless, it is certain that wealth will come in its time, on condition that you accept the saying of the Alter Rebbe, which has been transmitted to us by my father-in-law, the Rebbe[2], according to which Hashem grants Yidden material goods so that they make of them spirituality.

As for, more specifically, this trip, you will not lose sight of its spiritual aspect, that is, the visit and the chassidic gathering that I expect from you.

שלום וברכה!

זה עתה קבלתי מכתבו מעש"ק, וכנראה שעוד הפעם נפל ברוחו וכו'! ולמה לו להחליש את מעמדו ומצבו על ידי המצאות כמה מיני מחשבות וסברות שלא לטוב ח"ו! זה כמה פעמים עוררתיו עד"ז וכנראה שעדיין לא הגיעו, וכפי הפירוש בלקו"ת פ' שמיני בתחלתה, ניט אנגערירט.

חזק יהי' בבטחונו שיהי' גביר ולא מופרך הדבר אשר מפאת הבלתי סדרים שאצלו איז ער שוין א גביר, והוא אינו יודע עד"ז, ובכל זאת בטח יבוא הדבר בעתו ובזמנו, ובלבד שיקבל עליו תוכן פתגם כ"ק רבינו הזקן ששמענו מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אז הקב"ה גיט אידן גשמיות און זיי מאכן פון גשמיות רוחניות, ובנוגע בפרט לנסיעתו זו, הנה לא יסיח דעתו מצד הרוחני שבה, היינו מה שבקשתיו בענין בקור והתועדות חסידותית...
