To the distinguished chassidim* who fear Hashem,

the brothers Moshe and Yosef[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I follow up on our telephone conversation and would like to tell you my satisfaction at ascertaining the interest which you bring to the proposal of taking charge of the second half of the cost of the construction in our Holy Land[2], of which your dear father[3] offers the first.

I assume that it is unnecessary to describe to you the importance and the utility of this project. I am sure that you are fully conscious of it.

I would like only to underline two points to you.

Our Sages teach that the essential value of a mitzvah* is acquired by the one who brings it to its term. In the present case, your father has offered the first half, and, in giving the second, you will also receive a share in the accomplishment of your father.

In this way, you reinforce the contribution of your father, since the entirety of this project will be able to bear the name of the Holman family.

An edifice, built in the Holy Land, which has a pedagogical vocation, will be an eternal realization, material and spiritual at the same time. I am therefore persuaded that you will accept to bring the second half of it. The Holman family will thus receive the great and immutable merit which results from this, in particular in these days of Elul, the month of mercy and goodwill.

I hope that you will communicate to me the good news of your positive decision.

בהמשך לשיחתנו הטלפונית ,רצוני להביע בזה את שמחתי על העניו

שגילו בהצעה להתחייב מצידם לנדב את החצי השני של הסכום הנחוץ

לבנין בארצנו הקדושה ,שאביכם הנכבד שי׳ נדב לכך את החצי הראשון.

הנני סבור ,שמיותר להאריך אודות חשיבות ונחיצות הדבר ,שבטח

מובן להם מעצמו.

רצוני רק להדגיש שתי נקודות:

חכמינו זכרונם לברכה אומרים ,שחשיבות מצוה נקראת על שם גומרה.

זאת אומרת ,שהעובדה שאביהם שי׳ ביצע את החצי הראשון של הדבר והם

ישלימו את החצי השני ,בזה הם לוקחים חלק גם בחלק אביהם שי׳.

בד בבד זה גם מחזק את ההשתתפות של אביהם שי׳ בכך שכל הדבר

נקרא על שם משפחת הלמן.

וכיון שבנין בארץ ישראל ת״ו הקשור בחינוך על טהרת הקדש ,הוא

מהדברים הנצחיים בגשמיות וברוחניות ,הנני בטוח ,שיתרמו ברצון את החצי

השני ,וכך ירכשו לכל משפחת הלמן שיחיו את הזכות הגדולה והנצחית
