Greetings and blessings,

You complain of the situation of the yeshivah* in your city. I have already written to you several times, and I have also indicated to you orally that you must make use of your bitterness to increase your study of Torah, but in no way by introducing it into your communal activity. In this matter, this causes harm to the man who possesses it, to those who come to his aid, and to his collaborators.

You were delegated by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. It is therefore certain that you possess his strength. Even if it were true that this place is not very easy, you will agree that there is no occasion to be affected by it, if you possess the powers of him who delegates you.

Moreover, in your city, you can ascertain success in many domains. This yeshivah* has no equivalent in other places. Certainly, several points have not yet been settled. One can explain it in two ways:

1. The order instituted in the domain of holiness is in conformity with the verse: "I will drive him[1] out little by little."

2. Perhaps those who work at the yeshivah* and those who direct it have not yet merited it, not having attained the perfection necessary for this[2]. They have therefore, momentarily, altered the channels conveying brachah*. And they will open them anew by observing, for example, the studies of Chumash, Tehillim*, and Tanya, as also the immersion instituted by Ezra[3]. Then, success will fully be revealed.

In expectation of your good news, I conclude by wishing you to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

... ומה שמתאונן על המצב בהישיבה דמחנו, הנה כבר כתבתי לו כמה פעמים וכן אמרתי לו בע"פ, אז דעם ענין פון מרה שחורה הנה יש להשתמש בו בהתמדה בת"ת, אבל כלל וכלל לא בנוגע לעסקנות צבורית כי זהו מבלבל הן לבעל המרה שחורה והן להעוזרים אתו והעובדים ביחד, ובלי ספק אשר כיון ששלחו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר... הרי כח המשלח עמו, ולא יהי כדבריו שאין זה מקום קל כ"כ, הרי בטח גם הוא יודה שבערך כחות המשלח אין להתפעל ובפרט שבמחנו הרי רואה הצלחה בהשגחה פרטית בכמה וכמה ענינים והישיבה שאין כדוגמתו במקומות אחרים, ומה שיש כו"כ פרטים שעדיין לא נתקנו, הרי לשתי סיבות אפשריות בדבר, א) כי הסדר דקדושה הוא לאט לאט אגרשנו, ב) שאולי עוד לא זכו העובדים בהישיבה והמנהלים - זכו מל' זיכוך ובירור - ובמילא קלקלו הצנורות לשעה קלה , ובעשיית תשובה כפשוטה, היינו לשמור השיעורים בחומש תהלים ותניא, טבילת עזרא וכיו"ב במילא יישרו ויפתחו הצנורות ותבוא ההצלחה במילואה...
