To the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received the eleven sefarim* which you sent me. I thank you for this effort.

I learned through the newspapers of the death of a Rabbi, Rav... I do not know whether it concerns the Rav of... May Hashem grant that we transmit and receive only good news. In any event, we need, here, to know what is happening, whether it concerns joyous events or the opposite, chas veshalom*. Often, this can have a concrete bearing[2].

I received your letters of 25 Tammuz, 10, 12, 26, 29 Menachem Av, and 8 Elul, to which were joined the accounts of the months of June and July. I hope to have other information confirming to me that the negotiations with the Joint have concluded in the most positive manner. You will please inform me as quickly as possible.

You ask me whether I have the Kanfei Yonah of Rabbi Menachem Azaryah. I do not have it.

I thank you again for all the sefarim* which you have sent until now. You will strive to do likewise in the future. When the siddur* arrives from the binding, you will send it as well. You will send me especially books of Kabbalah and halachah*.

You will find enclosed an extract of the words which were spoken[3]. It would be good to have it printed and disseminated, if time permits.

Your son has surely recovered his health.

נתקבלו י"א הספרים ששלח, כפי הרשימה, ות"ח עבור הטרחה שבזה.

נזדמנה לפני ידיעה בעתון על דבר פטירת רב אחד, הרב... ולא ידוע לי אם הידיעה מתיחסת להרב ד... ויתן השי"ת להודיע ולהוודע אך בשורות טובות, אבל בכל אופן צריך גם כאן לדעת המתרחש, הן ענינים של שמחה הן ח"ו להיפך, כי לפעמים נוגע הדבר לפועל.

נתקבלו מכתביו מכ"ה תמוז, יו"ד, י"ב, כ"ו, כ"ט מנ"א, ח' אלול, בצירוף החשבונות עבור חודש יוני, יולי. והנני מחכה לקבל ידיעות נוספות אשר ענין השקו"ט עם הדזוינט נסתדר על הצהיו"ט, ובטח יודיע בהקדם.

בנוגע שאלתו אם יש אצלי הס' כנפי יונה לר' מנחם עזרי', הנה אינו אצלי.

משנה תודה על העבר בשילוח הספרים ע"ע, ובטח גם להבא ישתדל בזה (כשיביאו הסידור תפלה מבית הכורך, בטח ישלח ג"כ). ובעיקר ס' קבלה ופס"ד.

קטע הר"ד המוסג"פ - כדאי להדפיסו ולהפיצו אם הזמן מספיק.

בודאי בנו שי' כבר חזר לאיתנו.
