By the grace of Hashem,

14 Elul 5712,

I bless you and greet you,

I received your request for a brachah* for Mr. ... When I go to the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I will mention his name so that he have a prompt healing. May Hashem grant that you may announce to me the good news of the improvement of his state.

You will ask him to place near his bed a checked and kosher mezuzah*. It will, of course, be placed inside two cases, since he finds himself in the hospital. He will also have checked the mezuzos* of his home, his tefillin*, and the tzitzis* of the tallis* gadol and tallis* katan.

Without making it a vow, he will undertake to adopt the three studies which concern each one and which were instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. They concern, as you know, Chumash, Tehillim*, and Tanya.

If it is difficult for him to speak, he will be able, if the doctors permit, to undertake these studies in thought. I await good news on this subject. His wife surely gives tzedakah* to the fund of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess, every erev Shabbos and erev yom tov, before lighting the candles.

I enclose to you the booklet printed on the occasion of 18 Elul and an extract of the words spoken during the Shabbos in the course of which Elul, the month of mercy, was blessed. Without doubt you will disseminate them in the fitting manner, so that they reach the broadest circles.

Wishing you to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

נתקבל הפ"נ שלו בעד מר... וכשאהי' על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אזכירו לרפואה קרובה, והשי"ת יזכהו שיוכל לבשרני טובות מהטבת מצב בריאותו של הנ"ל, ועליו לעוררו שיחזיק סמוך למטתו מזוזה בדוקה שתהי' כשרה - כמובן שתהי' כלי בתוך כלי, כיון שנמצא הוא בבית החולים - וכן יבדוק המזוזות בביתו והתפילין והציצית של הט"ג והט"ק לו, ויקח על עצמו - בלי נדר - לשמור את שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר והם בחומש תהלים ותניא כידוע, ואם קשה עליו עתה הדבור, הרי אפשר אם הרופאים יסכימו ע"ז שיאמרם במחשבה, ואחכה לבשו"ט ממנו. ובטח זוגתו תחי' של הנ"ל מפרישה לצדקה בכל עש"ק וערב יום טוב קודם הדלקת הנרות, לקופת רבי מאיר בעל הנס.
