By the grace of Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

I respond to your letter of 17 Elul, in which you inform me of the different positions which are presently proposed to you, one of which is at Yeshivas Lubavitch of Paris[1].

From the moment such a proposal is made to you, I do not understand why you orient yourself toward other vineyards, while Hashem gives you the possibility of being "the keeper of my vineyard"[2].

You know that, in such a case, what you can give to an institution of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, is in no common measure with what this brings itself, materially and spiritually, to all its collaborators participating in its work.

Moreover, you have, there, a satisfactory environment. You will therefore be able to elevate yourself in the study of Torah and the avodas* Hashem. And our Sages say that one must know elevation in all that is linked to holiness.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches in a positive and blessed manner, for us and for all Israel, I address you my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually.

שלום וברכה!

במענה על מכתבו מי"ז אלול, בו כותב ע"ד ההצעות השונות שיש לו בענין משרה וביניהם ג"כ הצעה מישיבת תו"ת אשר בפריז.

הנה כיון שיש לו הצעה כזו איני מבין למה לו לחפש בכרמים אחרים בה בשעה אשר השי"ת המציא לו אופן להיות נוטר את כרמי שלי וידוע אשר בענינים כאלו הרי יותר מאשר עושים עם מוסד כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הרי המוסד עושה ברוחניות וגשמיות עם אותם הפועלים לטובת המוסד ומשתתפים בעבודתו ובפרט אשר הס[ב]יבה שם ג"כ כדבעי במילא יוכל לעלות בתורה ועבודה וכמרז"ל מעלין בקדש.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות,
