Greetings and blessings,

I respond to your letter of 15 Elul. I learned in it with satisfaction that you are doing better and have already taught Torah publicly. May Hashem grant that your health continue to improve and that you give me good news on this subject.

You conclude your letter by telling me that you have taken the decision to be officiant during the awesome and holy days, which approach. Certain persons, who know how to sing well, will come to your aid. You will strive not to tire yourself too much, to the full measure of the possible. Our Sages give two interpretations of the manner of praying "with all one's strength." They see in this an allusion to physical strength, but also to fervor. This second explanation is more correct, in the spiritual dimension and therefore also materially.

I duly received your request for blessing and I will read it, without making it a vow, at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches in a positive and blessed manner, for us and for all Israel, I address you my blessing, as also to all the members of your family, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually.

במענה על מכתבו מט"ו אלול, נהניתי לקרות בו אשר הוטב מצב בריאותו וכבר למד ג"כ השיעורים ברבים, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר הלוך ילך מצבו הולך וטוב ויבשר בשו"ט בזה.

מסיים במכתבו שגמר במחשבתו להתפלל בתור ש"ץ בימים נוראים והק' הבע"ל, ויהי' לו ג"כ עוזרים משוררים שיעזרוהו במקצת, ובטח ישתדל במדה האפשרית למעט בטרחה וידוע שני הפירושים במרז"ל בכל כחו, כפשוטו, או בכל כחו, כוונתו, ומובן אשר הפשט השני הוא יותר מתאים ברוחניות ובמילא יותר טוב גם בגשמיות.

הפ"נ שלו נתקבל, ואקראהו בל"נ על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולב"ב שיחיו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
