Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1876 — Chinuch

Volume 7 · Letter 10

By the grace of Hashem,

1st day of Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan 5713,

Brooklyn,

To Mrs. Rachel[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I hope that, finding yourself in the sukkah*[2], you took cognizance of what was said on the subject of the organization of the women and young women of Chabad[3], that is to say of all the women who maintain any relationship whatsoever with Chabad.

From time to time, these women must gather and study the laws which are necessary for them to direct their home, which will permit them to improve the chinuch* of their children. They will also learn the sidra* of the week, the sichos* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and other texts as well.

If there exists a Jewish grouping in the place where you reside, it would be good for you to envisage the possibility of instituting such a study circle. I hope that, in approaching this question in the fitting manner, you will succeed in putting all this into application.

You know the saying which my father-in-law, the Rebbe, cited in the name of his own father, the Rebbe[4]: "It is established that an effort is never in vain."

With my blessing for the satisfaction of all your needs, as also those of your husband,

[1] Mrs. Rachel Cunin, of the Bronx.
[2] See, on this subject, letters no. 1898 and 1904.
[3] See letter no. 1869.
