To the distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to
communal needs, Rav Yosef[1],
Greetings and blessings,
I respond to your letter of 27 Tishrei. You have doubtless already received the receipt and the letter of the Maamad committee[2]. You know the teaching of our Sages according to which "the wine belongs to its proprietor, but one is grateful to him who pours it"[3].
You say, at the end of your letter, that you are striving to institute an hour of religious chinuch* for the very young children. You will doubtless specify to me what it concerns. It seems that this is the equivalent of "the hour of religious study," which is practiced here, in conformity with the dispositions of the country[4].
Perhaps it would be good for you to contact Rav Yaakov Yehudah Hecht, who manages this activity directly for many years. Likewise, you doubtless know the publications of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch, conceived for this study. I enclose for you one of these fascicles. There are, in total, twenty-four.
May Hashem give you success in your sacred mission, consisting in drawing close the heart of the children of Israel to their Father Who is in heaven.

במענה על מכתבו מכ"ז תשרי, בטח כבר הגיעו אשור הקבלה וכן מכתב מועד המעמד, וידוע מרז"ל חמרא למרא וטיבותא לשקי'.
מסיים במכתבו אשר משתדל הוא לסדר פעם בשבוע שעה אחת של חינוך דתי לילדים רכים, ובטח יכתוב פרטים בזה, וכנראה שהוא מעין השעה ללימודי הדת - של"ה - שעורכים פה בהתאם לחוק המדינה, ואז אולי כדאי שיבוא בקישור עם הרב ר' יעקב יהודא שי' העכט אשר הוא בעובי הקורה בענין זה רבות בשנים, כן בטח ראה את הוצאות המל"ח המיוחדות ללימוד שעה זו, ומוסג"פ חוברת אחת (ס"ה הו"ל כ"ד חוברות) והשי"ת יצליחהו במלאכת שמים לקרב לבן של בני ובנות ישראל לאבינו שבשמים.
