By the grace of Hashem,
1 Marcheshvan 5713,
Brooklyn,
Greetings and blessings,
I was satisfied to note your presence at Simchas Beis HaShoeivah[1]. But I have the habit of seeing you also at the conclusion of Simchas Torah, which was not the case this time, although the chassidic* gathering was prolonged for several hours after the other persons had already recited Havdalah.
It is known that spirituality is not subject to the limits of space. One can, sometimes, not feel that it is so. Nevertheless, one undergoes its influence, and I hope that the positive thoughts I had concerning you have reached you.
Even if you have not felt it, you have received it profoundly, and, when the moment comes, this will be revealed.
My father-in-law, the Rebbe, had the custom of saying[2] that chassidim* are intelligent. They therefore do not put off until later what they can do now. May Hashem grant that it be so for you, as soon as possible, in positive and joyful circumstances.
With my blessing and in awaiting your good news,
