Greetings and blessings,

I respond to your letter in which you tell me that you have taken, on different occasions, the driver's license examination, without succeeding in obtaining it. The verse tells us that everything comes in its time. When the moment comes, you will surely succeed in this examination, after preparing yourself for it as is fitting.

You doubtless know that the material and spiritual dimensions are linked, in particular for a Jew. You must therefore redouble your ardor in the conduct of your own "chariot"[1], the two hundred forty-eight limbs and the three hundred sixty-five sinews of the physical body, the "chariot" of the spirit, which is itself the "chariot" of the divine soul[2].

Obviously, the "chariot," employed in this sense, must not be taken in the literal sense. Chassidus* explains the qualities and the limits of a chariot, which is only an accessory element, having to be directed by him who assumes the essential role, in this case the soul.

Doubtless you maintain firmly the three studies which concern each one and which were instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe. These bear on Chumash, Tehillim*, and Tanya. Likewise, you also take part in the public studies. Hashem will grant you success.

במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב שזה איזה פעמים עמד להבחן לקבלת רשיון נהג, ועדיין לא קבלו, הנה לכל עת אמר הכתוב, ובטח בעתיד יצליח בבחינה זו, כמובן אחרי הכנה המתאימה, ובאשר ידוע אשר גשמיות ורוחניות קשורים זה בזה ובפרט אצל האיש הישראלי, הנה יוסיף אומץ בהנהגת המרכבה שלו היינו הרמ"ח אברים ושס"ה גידים של הגוף הגשמי שהם מרכבה להנפש, והנפש היא מרכבה להנפש האלקית (מובן אשר התואר "מרכבה" בזה אינו מדוייק כפי המבואר בתורת החסידות המעלות והחסרונות שבמרכבה והכוונה היא דבר הטפל אשר עליו להיות מונהג ע"י העיקר הוא הנפש).

בטח מתחזק בשמירת שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע והם בחומש תהלים ותניא וכן לוקח חלק בשיעורים הנלמדים ברבים והשי"ת יצליחו.
