To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Nissan[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I respond to your letter of 17 Marcheshvan, describing to me all that has happened to you. You tell me that all is well, Hashem be thanked. As you know, our Sages explain that the children of Israel are compared to the stars, beginning their ascent. You will consult, on this subject, tractate Bava Basra 12b, with reference to those who do good. May Hashem grant that this be a visible and tangible good and that you yourself may verify that it is so.

You question me on your future activity, all the more so as you have been informed, from London, that no position of shochet* is currently vacant. In my opinion, you must obtain, with the greatest haste, a visa to settle in Morocco, in particular in Casablanca. There, you will exercise an educational activity, in the vineyard of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

In order to obtain the necessary documents, someone on the spot must request that you come. You will therefore address yourself immediately to the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav C. Matusof[2]. And you will transmit to him all the necessary details.

At first, it would be good for you to go there alone. The members of your family will join you afterward. There is good hope that they will also be able to assure their subsistence, materially and spiritually, in this place.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ז מ"ח, בו כותב ע"ד מה שעבר עליו ואשר ת"ל עבר הכל בשלום, הרי ידוע מרז"ל אשר בני ישראל נמשלו לכוכבים וכשהם מתחילים לעלות וכו' ועיין ג"כ ב"ב (יב, ב) וכל המטיבין לו כו' ויה"ר שזה יהי' בטוב הנראה ונגלה ובמוחש.

בנוגע לשאלתו ע"ד התעסקותו בעתיד ובפרט שהודיעו לו מלונדון שלע"ע אין דרישה לשובי"ם, הנה לדעתי עליו להשתדל במרץ היותר גדול בהשגת רשיון הכניסה למרוקו ובפרט לקסבלנקה ולקחת שם חלק בעבודת החינוך בכרמו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ובענין אופני השגת הניירות, הנה יוכל לפנות תיכף - כי צריך להורות שמות אנשים על אתר הדורשים אותו - להרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ מוהר"ש שי' מטוסאף ויודיעו פרטים בזה, ובהתחלת הדבר מהנכון שיסע הוא בעצמו ואח"כ יבואו ב"ב שיחיו לשם, ויש לקוות שיהי' זה מקום פרנסה בשבילם - הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות.
