Igrot Kodesh · Letter 1911 — Tzedakah
Volume 7 · Letter 45
By the grace of Hashem,
24 Marcheshvan 5713,
Brooklyn,
To the association of women and young girls of Chabad[1]
of Montreal, may Hashem grant you long life,
Greetings and blessings,
I received, with pleasure, your letter of Thursday of Parshas Vayera, in which you describe to me your first meeting, which took place on Tuesday 2 Cheshvan. You mention the decisions which were taken and the names of the participants.
All that lives develops, and I therefore formulate the wish that you will also grow, quantitatively, by the number of members of the association of women and young girls of Chabad, and qualitatively, by enlarging your activities in different domains, the most spiritual ones, such as the teaching of the Torah in the manner which is fitting, but also the most material ones, such as the support of institutions. Our Sages say that "a man sanctifies himself a little here below," and from then on, "one sanctifies him considerably, on high."
You will find enclosed a copy of the letter[2] which I addressed to the association of women and young girls of Chabad, in different places, and which, in fact, applies in every place where such a grouping exists, or will be created, with the help of Hashem.
I wish you blessing and success in the mission which has just been defined. May this also be the channel and the receptacle containing the blessing and the success for your personal preoccupations.
In awaiting your good news,
