To the great Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Shalom[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I respond to the request for blessing which you transmitted to me, on behalf of someone.

Now, I have asked, on several occasions, the chassidim*, when they intercede in favor of a person, to transmit to me a few points concerning him, his age, his family situation, and especially his commitment with respect to the Torah and the mitzvos*. Logic permits establishing that each blessing must have a receptacle which suits it.

Divine Providence makes it so that the one who requests the blessing enters into relation with me, although he could have been helped in another way, since Hashem effectively grants all the blessings, in particular to the sons and daughters of Israel, children, health, and material prosperity.

All this is not conditioned by the merit of each one, such as the human tribunal estimates it. In fact, the lot of every person is decided by Hashem. You will consult, on this subject, the last note of the talk of the Shabbos which blesses the month of Elul[2], printed in the Pardes of this Tishrei.

It is almost certain that I must encourage such a person in one of the domains of the Torah and the mitzvos*. I must therefore know with which point it is fitting to begin, and, for this, this information is necessary to me. Doubtless you will transmit it to me in your next mail.

I enclose for you a copy of my letter[3] addressed to the groupings of the association of women and young girls of Chabad, in different places. It would be good to reflect on the different steps which would permit you to create one in your city. Obviously, this action must officially be conducted by women. Nevertheless, you and your cousin must be at the origin of all that is accomplished.

I await good news in all these domains,

הנה לפלא שכמה פעמים עוררתי את אנ"ש שיחיו, שכשמבקשים איזה ענין בעד מי שהוא, הנה יודיע ג"כ פרטים בנוגע לגילו, ומצבו המשפחתי, והעיקר מעמדו ומצבו בעניני תומ"צ, ומובן זה ג"כ בשכל, כי לכל השפעה צ"ל כלים מתאימים, וכיון שע"פ ההשגחה בא המבקש בקישור אתי - אף שבטח שעזרתו יכולה לבוא גם באופן אחר כיון שהקב"ה הוא המשפיע כל הענינים ובפרט לבני ובנות ישראל בבני חיי ומזוני דלאו בזכותא - אשר בבית דין - תליא מילתא, אלא במזל - הוא הקב"ה - תליא מילתא (ראה הערה האחרונה להשיחה דש"ק מברכים חדש אלול שנדפס בהפרדס דחדש תשרי השתא) -, הרי קרוב לומר שהכונה שצריך אני לעוררו על איזה ענין של תומ"צ ובמילא הרי עלי לדעת ממה להתחיל, אשר לזה נחוצות ידיעות הנ"ל, ובטח ימלא את זה במכתבו הבא...

מוסג"פ העתק מכתבי לסניפי אגודת נשי ובנות חב"ד במקומות שונים, ומהראוי הי' שיחפש תחבולות ועצות איך לסדר ענין זה גם במחנם הט', מובן שבאופן רשמי צ"ל זה ע"י נשים, אלא שהוא וב"ד שיחיו יהיו הרוח חיים במהלך העבודה, ולבשו"ט בכל הנ"ל אחכה.
