To the extraordinary meeting of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch,

May Hashem grant long life to its participants,

Greetings and blessings,

You are gathering today to take stock of the positive realizations of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch and to deliberate on its material situation. I express to you my blessing, so that you may succeed in finding the solutions and the methods which will permit strengthening this holy institution, setting it on good foundations, and permitting it to enlarge its influence.

Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch was founded by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, to whom it was very dear. He felt for it a particular love[1]. Each one and each woman, among the chassidim*, must therefore participate in its action, according to his possibilities and his means, whether it be a question of its clearly established realizations or of those which are conducted to a successful end in discretion, in order to spread and strengthen judicious chinuch*, to strengthen the purest Judaism, in all the corners of the globe.

The spread and the enlargement of the action and the realizations of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch in general, the creation and the strengthening of good schools in particular, at least in the places where the need is felt, depend, for a large part, on the obtaining of the necessary means.

The responsibility which falls upon each one is immense. In comparison with it, the necessity of filling the financial lack is nothing.

I have good hope that each of the participants in today's meeting will know how to take the measure of these words, and that, through their intermediary, these will be transmitted to all our other friends, the chassidim*. It is clear that the latter are also concerned. Each one will thus measure the responsibility which is his and will strive, with all the measure of his means, to contribute to the action of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch, in each point that constitutes it.

Thus, one will give to this institution the possibility of assuming its mission, the role that its founder, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, confided to it, in conformity with his will.

May Hashem permit each one of us to fully realize these good resolutions[2], in material and spiritual largesse.

לרגל חנוכה ,נשלח להן הספר ״בית רבי״ ) -באידיש( שזה עתה יצא
לאור ־״ כמזכרת חנוכה.
אקוה ,שישתמשו הרבה בספר זה בהתכנסויות שלכן ,כדי להכיר
יותר מקרוב את חייהם ופעלם של כ״ק נשיאינו ,״אבות חב״ד״
זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,לשאוב ממעיינותיהם החיים וכך למלא טוב
יותר את חובותיהן בתור נשי ובנות חב״ד ,להפיץ את אור התורה
ומצוות ברוח תורת חב״ד ,לא רק בביתן ,אלא בכל הסביבה.
כיון שהכל הוא בהשגחה פרטית ,הרי גם מהעובדה שה]ספר[ ״בית
רבי״ יצא לאור בחודש הגאולה של חב״ד ובפרט בימי חנוכה ,ניתן
ללמוד הוראה.
ההבדל בין נרות חנוכה ונרות של שבת ,שהנשים מחויבות בשניהם,
הוא ,בין השאר ,גם בכך שאת נרות החנוכה מדליקים לאחר השקיעה,
כאשר כבר לילה ,אבל את נרות השבת מדליקים לפני השקיעה ,כאשר

עדיין יום .בנוסף לכך ,מדליקים כל ערב־שבת אותו מספר נרות כבכל
פעם ,אבל מספר נרות החנוכה גדל כל לילה.
זהו רמז ,שאי-אפשר להסתפק בכך שמאירים את הבית הפרטי
באור תורה ומצוות ומאור שבתורה ,האור הפנימי של התורה שזוהי
תורת החסידות; מוכרחים להאיר גם את ה״רחוב״ ,שעל כך רומזים
נרות חנוכה )שמקומם הוא על פתח ביתו מבחוץ( .יתרה מכך :בשעה
שחושך ברחוב ,לא די בהדלקת נרות בלבד ,אלא מוכרחים להיות מוסיף
והולך -להוסיף בהדרגה נרות חדשים ,להגדיל את הכוחות ולהרחיב
את העבודה יותר ויותר ,לפי שיטת חסידות חב״ד המיוסדת על היסודות
של אהבת השם ,אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל.
אקוה ,שגם עבודתן תהי׳ כמו נרות החנוכה -מוסיף והולך ,ועי״ז
תמשכנה את האור האלוקי על עצמן ועל בני־ביתן שיחיו להתברך בבני
חיי ומזוני.
