By the grace of Hashem,

First day of Kislev 5713,

Brooklyn, New York,

To all those who cherish the Torah and Judaism,

May Hashem grant them long life,

Greetings and blessings,

Our Sages underline, in different texts of the Gemara and the Midrash, the immense quality and the great merit of the Jewish woman, mistress of the house, who sets it on its feet and makes it function, by basing it on the Torah and the mitzvos*. From her also depends, for a large part, the education of the children on the way of truth, of Judaism, and of the Torah.

The Beth Rivka schools, placed under the aegis of Merkaz LeInyanei Chinuch, do work of the greatest interest and of the highest importance to bring a good education to Jewish girls, to permit them to be, subsequently, Jewish wives and mothers.

Thanks to their tireless and meticulous efforts, the Beth Rivka schools have educated, during their eleven years of existence, hundreds, thousands of pupils, having them acquire Torah, the fear of Hashem, and good comportments, so that they may be a cause of pleasure for their parents, may make the pride of the Jewish people.

The financial situation of these schools is currently very difficult. Those who assure their direction, and, first of all, the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, who is full of zeal and multiplies positive accomplishments, Rav Yisrael Jacobson, do all that is in their power to maintain them.

The annual celebration of the Beth Rivka institutions will take place, if Hashem wills, on Sunday 13 Kislev. I address a warm appeal to all those who cherish the Torah and Judaism, who know how to appreciate at its just value the good education of Jewish girls.

Upon each one, man or woman, rests a sacred obligation, that of strengthening the Beth Rivka schools, by all possible means.

Participate in this annual celebration and bring there the means which are highly necessary to support the Beth Rivka schools. In this matter, it is a question not only of helping but above all of saving an institution dispensing a sacred education to girls.

By this merit, Hashem will come to the aid of all those who bring their participation and their contribution. He will satisfy all their needs, children, health, and prosperity, materially and spiritually.

With my blessing of success and for all good, physical and moral,

M. Schneerson,
