distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Greetings and blessings,

Doubtless you have returned home well, and you have found all the members of your family in good health. Doubtless, as I asked you, you have transmitted my chassidic* greetings to all. As the chassidic* custom requires, you must have done so in the course of a joyous gathering, and I thank you for it.

I enclose for you, as I had promised, a fascicle containing the chassidic* discourse of Parshas Vayera[2]. I hope that it will reach you before the festival of liberation[3] of 19 Kislev. Thus, you will be among those who confer a merit on others by placing at their disposal the hidden light, emanating from the luminary that this fascicle contains.

One of the contributions of Chassidus* is, indeed, to reveal the light of the first day of creation, of which the Baal Shem Tov[4] says that it was hidden in the Torah. You will also consult the Zohar, vol. 1, p. 264a, vol. 2, p. 179a, the Tikunei Zohar, Tikun 6, and the Zohar Chadash Ruth, p. 85a[5].

This light must reveal itself in such a way that it acts also on the body and the animal soul, in order to serve Hashem "with all your body," that is to say, "with your two inclinations."

You will transmit my greetings to the chassidim*, and, for yourself, my blessing of success.

מוסג"פ קונטרס ובו המאמר דפ' וירא כהבטחתי, ותקותי אשר יגיע אליו עוד קודם חג הגאולה י"ט כסלו הבע"ל, ובמילא יהי' ממזכי הרבים לזכותם באור הצפון וגנוז במאור שבקונטרס זה אשר זהו מפעולות תורת החסידות לגלות גם את האור שנברא ביום ראשון, שמובא בשם הבעש"ט שגנזו בתורה (ויעוין ג"כ זהר ח"א רס"ד ע"א, זח"ב קע"ט ע"א, תקו"ז תקון וא"ו, ז"ח רות פה, א), ולגלות אור זה באופן שיפעול ג"כ על הגוף ונה"ב בכדי לעבדו ית' בכל לבבך בשני יצריך.
