By the grace of Hashem,

Brooklyn,

To the chassidim* who participate in the gathering, on this

luminous day, that of the good tidings[1] for us, festival

of the liberation of the Alter Rebbe, of our liberation

and of the redemption of our soul,

upon whom Hashem will bestow long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter in which you tell me of your gathering, a gathering of tzaddikim*, for "all Your people are tzaddikim*," which was good for you and good for the world. Furthermore, this gathering of friends was permeated with ahavas Yisrael*, ahavas haTorah*, and ahavas Hashem*.

One confers a merit upon a day that is by nature propitious, and one can thus reveal all this in this material and coarse world, in accordance with the ruling of the celestial tribunal[1], which was transmitted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, descendant of the Alter Rebbe. According to this, the mesirus nefesh* to which the latter testified for the teaching of Chassidus*[2] enabled him to obtain that those who are attached to him and follow his way will have the upper hand in everything connected to Torah*, fear of Hashem, and good middos*.

The children of Israel, a unique people on the earth — that is, according to the interpretation of Chassidus*, a people that brings out the unity of Hashem within earthly preoccupations — emphasize that matter and spirit form one and the same entity. They must know moral success in order to obtain material success — children, health, and material prosperity, according to the needs of each one.

May Hashem grant you and grant us, within all the people of Israel, to illuminate the part of the world entrusted to each one, to guide students and disciples in accordance with the divine plan and the mission assigned to each one here below. We will do so in good physical health, in good moral health, in true expansiveness.

בנועם הגיעני מכתבם בו כותבים ע"ד התועדותם יחד וכנוס צדיקים - ועמך כולם צדיקים - טוב להם וטוב לעולם, ובפרט אשר נתעוררו במסיבת רעים באהבת ישראל אהבת התורה ואהבת השם ומגלגלין זכות ליום זכאי להמשיך את זה בפועל למטה גם בעולם הזה הגשמי והחומרי פסק דין בית דין של מעלה אשר מסרו כ"ק אדמו"ר בן כ"ק רבינו הזקן, אשר בגלל מסירות נפשו של אביו כ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן על תורת החסידות, פסקו בבית דין של מעלה אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה, ועם בני ישראל גוי אחד בארץ, שפירשו בזה בתורת החסידות, אשר הם גוי שממשיכים האחדות גם בענינים הארציים אשר הגשמיות והרוחניות יחדיו ילכו, הנה הצלחה בענינים רוחניים מביאה אתה עמה הצלחה בענינים גשמיים בבני חיי ומזוני רוויחי לכל אחד ואחד לפי המצטרך לו,

והשי"ת יזכה אותם ואותנו בתוך כלל ישראל להאיר חלקנו בעולם ולהשפיע על תלמידינו והמקבלים מאתנו מתאים לכוונה העליונה ולשליחותנו בעלמא דין, ויהי' זה מתוך בריאות הנכונה בגשמיות בריאות הנכונה ברוחניות והרחבה אמיתית.
