To the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Yaakov Yosef[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received in due time your letter of Thursday of Parshas* Bo. I learned in it with pleasure that you are beginning to set up a Talmud Torah* for the boys, in the shul*, and are yourself ensuring the teaching there.

You know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, giving the assurance that an effort is never in vain, even if at times one does not immediately observe its fruit. In the end, we will indeed have the victory.

You know the account of the Mitteler Rebbe*[2], according to which the mesirus nefesh* shown by his father, the Alter Rebbe*, led the Heavenly Court to decree that in all that concerns Torah, yiras shamayim*, and good deeds, those who are bound to him and follow his ways would have the upper hand. You will also consult the summaries and notes on the Tanya*, p. 122.

As you asked of me, I mentioned your name and that of the members of your family near the holy tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. May Hashem grant success to each of you in all your needs.

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מה' בא, ונהניתי לקרות בו ע"ד שהתחיל להתעסק אודות ת"ת לנערים בביהכ"נ שהולך ללמוד שם, וידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שחזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם אף שלפעמים אין רואים הפירות על אתר הנה סו"ס יהי' דידן נצח וכידוע סיפור כ"ק אדמו"ר האמצעי נ"ע אשר בגלל המס"נ של כ"ק אביו רבינו הזקן פסקו בבי"ד של מעלה אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה (עיין קיצורים והערות לתניא ע' קכב).

כבקשתו הזכרתיו ואת כל ב"ב שיחיו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע והשי"ת יצליח לכאו"א מהם בהמצטרך לו.
