To the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Chaim [1], the shochet*,

Greetings and blessings,

I have received your letter concerning your daughter-in-law. As you asked of me, I sent the response to her father, Mr. Levkowitch. You have surely seen my letter and I await good news from you.

You mention in your letter the hilula* [2] of the 10th of Shevat, the difficulties you encountered in obtaining the visa that would have allowed you to come here. As you know, the verse says that "everything happens in its time." Hashem will grant you, when the time comes, the merit of going up to the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit shall protect us. Likewise, you will be able to take part in a chassidishe farbrengen* here. You will do so in good health and in joy.

On the occasion of Purim, which is approaching, I have proposed to the chassidim that they study, on the day of the yom tov* and on the Shabbos preceding it, the chassidishe maamar* which my father-in-law, the Rebbe, delivered on Purim 5701 [3]. It appears in kuntres* no. 100. They will also study the sichah* delivered on the same occasion, which was printed at the time as a kuntres. I hope that the chassidim of Toronto will do the same.

Concerning the trip to Eretz HaKodesh* [4], it does not seem to me that this is the time.

Concerning Ottawa [4], I think you have a better and more dignified position, materially and spiritually, in Toronto.

With regards to all the chassidim and wishing you a freilichen* Purim, "until one no longer knows [5]," as our holy Torah requests, and then continuing afterward in joy throughout the year, both physically and morally,

בזמן המתאים שיוכל להיות על הציון הק׳ של כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר

זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע וגם להשתתף בהתוועדות חסידית כאן ,ושזה

יהי׳ בבריאות ובשמחה.

לפורים הבע״ל הצעתי לאנ׳׳ש שיחיו ,שבימי הפורים ובשבת לפני

פורים ילמדו את המאמר חסידות מכ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר מפורים

ה׳תש״א )הנדפס בקונטרס ק׳( וגם את שיחת פורים ה׳תש״א שבשעתה

נדפסה בחוברת בפ״ע ,ואקוה שגם אנ״ש שיחיו בטורונטו יעשו כן.

אודות נסיעה לאה״ק ת״ו -לע״ע לא נראה לי.

בנוגע לאוטווה -לדעתי בטורונטו יש לו יותר ״ ובכבוד -בגו״ר.

בפ״ש כל אנ״ש שיחיו וברכת פורים שמח עד דלא ידע כפסק תוה״ק

ולהמשיך השמחה על כל השנה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
