Igrot Kodesh · Letter 212 — Encouragement to Holocaust-Survivor Yeshiva Students

By the grace of Hashem, 12 Adar Rishon 5706

To the great Rabbanim,* distinguished Chassidim,* Hashem-fearing, who suffer one exile after another[1] and are sorely stricken — may they merit one redemption after another and be doubly consoled[2] — the students of the Yeshiva* and all those who follow them,[3]

I have received with satisfaction your letter from the beginning of the month of Shevat.* Blessed be Hashem* who has sustained us and kept us all alive during the terrible period that the people of Israel* has just endured.

Moreover, the Sefat Emet,* which is printed as an addendum to the Emet LeYaakov,* explains that the trial, just before the redemption, will encompass all six millennia at once. This is the meaning of the birth pangs of Mashiach.*

He who has sustained us will surely grant us, without doubt, strength, vigor, and abundance — material and spiritual — so that we may all fulfill the mission entrusted to each of us, according to our situation and our means. For in general, a Jew is a guarantor for others, and all are interdependent.

I have learned of what you have accomplished in your current location and during the years that have just passed, despite the conditions of place and time. How much more will your work develop now, since your situation is better. It is a certainty that an emissary fulfills the mission entrusted to him. This is all the more so when it is a divine mission.

I will conclude with what introduced my letter: the trial, which enables — as practice proves — a far more intense heavenly revelation. We are currently on the eve of Shabbat,* and during that day, the physical union will take place.

May Hashem* bring it about that the light emanating from the innermost part of the Torah,* which is revealed through Chassidut,* should bring a revelation of the Divine Essence into the essence of our souls, so that we may perceive Him — as the Likkutei Torah* explains in the discourse "When you will hearken to the voice of Hashem your Hashem." One should also consult the discourse of 19 Kislev* 5692.[4]

ומאן דיהיב חיי בטח יתן לנו די כח ועוז ומזוני בגשמיות וברוחניות, למען נוכל כלנו למלא התפקיד המוטל על כאו"א בפרט לפי מצבו ויכלתו, ובכלל, כי כל ישראל ערבים - ומעורבים - זב"ז.

נודעתי מפעולותיהם במקומם עתה במשך כל השנים שעברו, כי רבים המה, ובפרט בהתחשב עם תנאי המקום והזמן, וכ"ש וק"ו למה שביכלתם להביא לידי פועל עתה, כאשר הוטב המצב, וחזקה שליח - מלמעלה - עושה שליחותו.

... ואסיים מענין הפתיחה בענין הנסירה שתכליתה (וכמו שהוא ע"פ פשוט ג"כ) שיהי' החזרת פב"פ - שזהו בערב שבת - ואח"כ יהי' זווג פב"פ - ביום השבת. כן יה"ר שגילוי אור הדא"ח פנימיות התורה יסייע להמשיך מבחי' פנימיות ועצמות אוא"ס ב"ה שיאיר בפנימיות נפשנו ישר יחזו פנימו, וכפי המבואר בלקו"ת סד"ה כי תשמע בקול ועייג"כ בשיחת י"ט כסלו תרצ"ב.
