You write to me that the grandson of Shalom Moshe HaKohen is called Yosef Moshe. I am somewhat surprised at this[1]. Perhaps it is a slip of the pen[2]. It is also possible that it has been forgotten that the grandfather is named Moshe[3].

If this is not the case[4], it would be good to make an effort, though in a discreet manner, that the grandson be called only Yosef. So too with his name in English.

[1] For the grandfather is still alive.

[2] In the letter addressed to the Rebbe.

[3] Because that name is no longer in use.

[4] If neither of these two suppositions is true.

...לפלא קצת שכותב שנכדו של שלום משה הכהן שי' נקרא בשם יוסף משה. ואולי יש בזה פליטת הקולמוס, או שהשם משה אצל זקנו הוא שם שנשתקע. ובאם לאו, הרי כדאי - מבלי לעשות רעש מזה - ישתדלו ששם הנכד יהי' בעיקר - יוסף. וכן בהנוגע לשמו באנגלית...
