By the grace of Hashem,

To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Avraham[1],

Greetings and blessings,

A) I am pleased that you are in contact with the chassid*, scion of an illustrious family, Mr. Shazar[2]. I have good hope that this relationship will be of benefit to both of you.

B) You raise the crisis, in Eretz HaKodesh*, which does not allow one to ensure one's own livelihood. I will read out your request for a brachah*, on this matter, when I find myself near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may his merit protect us. Nevertheless, I am especially surprised at such a conception on the part of chassidim*, for one can observe with one's physical eyes that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, revealed the cure[3] and brought into being various fields in which numerous chassidim* can obtain the means to earn their livelihood.

I am alluding, very simply, to the trade school[4], to the agricultural enterprises of the Kfar*, to the development of the network[5], to the acts of rescue from the missionaries, and to the most recent achievement, the sending to Eretz HaKodesh* of the seforim* that are published here by Kehos* publishing[6].

If one observed all this with a discerning eye, one could earn one's livelihood, in an incomparable manner, spiritually but also materially, in the most literal sense. If you accepted one of these positions, you could, in this way, form connections in several ministries of Eretz HaKodesh*. In this way, one could find the means to ensure the livelihood of one person, then of another.

True, Chassidus* explains that, in the worlds of Beriah*, Yetzirah* and Asiyah*[7], the created matter is perceived as self-evident, but not the Elokus*. Various explanations and proofs are necessary to accept Hashem. Nevertheless, what has just been said takes the form of an absolute certainty, in order to leave no place for the yetzer hara*, which "blinds the wise." There is therefore no reason to "falsify the words of the tzaddikim*." For "all Your people are tzaddikim*."

C) Rav B. E. G.[8] has surely explained to you how important it is to import there, as quickly as possible, the seforim* of Kehos* publishing, published here. Yet, for the moment, nothing has been done concretely, and I am very surprised at this.

With my brachah* of good health and success in your communal and personal concerns, for you and for all the members of your family,

...ב) נהניתי ממה שעומד בקישור עם הוו"ח כו' ענף עץ אבות מר שזר שי'. ותקותי חזקה שיהי' לתועלת לשניהם גם יחד.

ג) במ"ש אודות המשבר בפרנסה באה"ק ת"ו, הנה כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אקרא את הפ"נ שלו אודות זה. אבל לאידך גיסא הנה תמי' אחר תמי' על אנ"ש, שהרי רואים בעיני בשר איך שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הקדים הרפואה והזמין שם כמה ענינים שכמה מאנ"ש יוכלו למצוא פרנסתם מהם... וכוונתי בפשטות להענין דביה"ס למלאכה, ובי"ס לחקלאות וכן המשקים בהכפר, והגדלת עניני הרשת והצלה מן המיסיון והענין החדש ביותר משלוח הספרים מכאן דהוצאת קה"ת לאה"ק ת"ו, שאם היו מביטים בעינא פקיחא ע"ז הנה נוסף על הפרנסה שבאין ערוך ברוחניות הרי הי' ע"י כל הנ"ל פרנסה בגשמיות כפשוטו ממש, ואם שהי' נכנס באיזה תפקיד ומשרה בהנ"ל הרי היו לו עי"ז כמה היכירות בהמשרדים בארץ ובמילא הי' סו"ס מקום פרנסה לאחד ועוד אחד כו'. ואף שמבואר בחסידות שבעולמות בי"ע הנה העולם הוא בפשטות ואלקות הוא בהתחדשות, היינו שצריכים לכמה ראיות והסברים ע"ז, הנה כל ענינים הנ"ל הרי נתלבשו בלבושים פשוטים ביותר שלא לתת מקום להיצה"ר המעוור עיני פקחים, ובמילא אין מקום לסלף דברי צדיקים, שועמך כולם צדיקים...

ה) לפלא גדול שכיון שבטח ביאר הרבא"ג שי' אודות הזריזות הנחוצה ביותר בענין הבאת משלוח ספרי קה"ת מכאן בהקדם, ובכ"ז לא יצא הדבר לפועל עד עתה.

בברכה לבריאות הנכונה ולהצלחה בענינים הכללים ובענינים הפרטים שלו ושל כב"ב שי'.
