A) After a long silence, I have at last received your three letters, of the 18th and 29th of Iyar, then of erev Shavuos*, in a single envelope, with what was enclosed, namely a copy of a letter and a newspaper clipping.

You know how much the situation worries us here. Accordingly, I am surprised that you waited until erev Shavuos* to send your letter of Lag BaOmer*. True, it is useless to complain of the past, but I hope that this will change, in the future. No doubt these few lines will suffice for that.

B) The financial situation imposes upon you a bitter struggle. It seems that, for now, you have not found anyone who can devote himself to this. In fact, such a person must receive a salary for this task. For when the nefesh habahamis* finds its account in it, it does not block the nefesh haElokis* as strongly.

As you know, when the Beis HaMikdash* was still standing, the equivalent of all this existed in the avodah* of Hashem that was performed there. This was the case, for example, with the smoke of the ketores* offering.

For the moment, it may be preferable not to add, in the new list, a new institution, except to develop one that already exists.

סוף סוף אחרי שתיקתם הארוכה נתקבלו במעטפה אחת שלשת מכתביהם, מי"ח וכ"ט אייר וערב חג השבועות עם המצורפים, העתק מכ' קטע עתון וכו'. ולפלא שלאחר שבטח יודעים שדואגים כאן על מצב הענינים, ובכ"ז חכו במשלוח המכתבים דל"ג בעומר עד ערב חגה"ש. ידוע דאין צועקין על העבר, וכוונתי לתקן בזה בנוגע להבא.

ובטח יספיקו שורותי אלה...

ג) כיון שמתאבקים הם כ"כ במצב הכספי, וכנראה שאין מוצאים לע"ע עדיין מי שיקדיש זמנו על זה (אשר בעצם כדאי שיהי' זה עמלק"פ שכאשר יש נגיעה גם לנה"ב, אינה מבלבלת כ"כ לעניני הנפה"א. וידוע שבעת היות המקדש על מכונו היו ענינים כאלו בעבודת ביהמ"ק ג"כ וכמו עשן הקטורת וכו') הנה אפשר כדאי שלא להוסיף מוסד חדש לרישום החדש, מלבד אם בא בדרך התפתחות מאחד המוסדות הקיימים מכבר...

נכון הדבר מה שבדעתם לצרף הרבנים דעל אתר להבחינות, והוא מכמה טעמים, אלא שאז צריכים הכנה יתירה הן מצד הנבחנים והן מצד הבוחנים.
