Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letter, in which you tell me that your son has fully recovered his health and that he has now returned to his studies, with ardor.

May Hashem grant that, soon, you will also tell me good news concerning the state of health of your wife. This period is bound up with Kamtza and Bar Kamtza[1]. The avodas Hashem* therefore goes in the opposite direction[2], as the Rambam* says, in the second chapter of his Hilchos De'os*, and, even more, it consists of loving every Jew "gratuitously"[3].

This subject is partially evoked in the sichah* of the Shabbos* blessing the month of Sivan, which you have surely seen. May Hashem transform these days[4] into joy and gladness, into good news both material and spiritual.

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו, בו מודיע אשר בנו שי' כבר שב לאיתנו ושוקד בלימודו, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר במהרה יודיע ג"כ בשו"ט מהטבת מצב בריאות זוגתו תחי', ובימים האלו אשר סיבתם היא אקמצא ובר קמצא כו' הנה העבודה היא בקצה השני (וע"ד מ"ש הרמב"ם בהלכות דיעות פ"ב - ועוד יותר) היינו אהבת ישראל אהבת חנם, ומדובר מקצת מזה בשיחת ש"ק מברכין סיון אשר בטח ראה אותה, והשי"ת יהפוך ימים אלו לששון ולשמחה ולבשו"ט בגשמיות וברוחניות.
