Greetings and blessings,
I received with pleasure your letter of 4 Menachem Av, as well as the one preceding it. You give me no details in your second letter. Nevertheless, you indicate that you are now at peace with all the chassidim. I am particularly pleased about this.
May Hashem grant that you have long days and good years, both material and spiritual. I have already said[1] that in this month the destruction[2] resulted from sinas chinam*. The reparation must therefore be, "middah keneged middah*," a feeling of ahavas chinam*. Nevertheless, the attribute of good is stronger[3].
The love will therefore be much stronger. And if it must be so for everyone, how much more is it so for chassidim, who have received the education dispensed by the masters of Chabad, by those of general Chassidus, beginning with the Baal Shem Tov*, and who follow their path.
And you know the saying that ahavas Yisrael* and ahavas Hashem* are one and the same feeling.
With my blessing for good health and to settle yourself in the proper way, materially and spiritually,

בנועם קבלתי מכתבו מד' מנ"א וכן הקודם לו ואף שאינו כותב פרטים במכתבו השני אבל כיון שתוכנו הוא שמכאן ולהבא השלום שורה בינו ובין כל אנ"ש שיחיו הרי נהניתי מזה במאד מאד ויה"ר שיהי' לאריכות ימים ושנים טובות הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות. וכבר אמרתי שכאשר בחדש זה הרי הקלקול הי' ע"י שנאת חנם הרי התיקון צ"ל מדה כנגד מדה אהבת חנם אלא שמדה טובה מרובה ובמילא צריך שתהי' האהבה כמה פעמים ככה, ואם לעמא דבר כך הרי עאכו"כ בתוככי אנ"ש שנתחנכו והולכים בדרכי נשיאי חב"ד ונשיאי חסידות הכללית ובראשם הבעש"ט, הרי ידוע פתגמם שאהבת ישראל ואהבת השם חד הוא.
בברכה לבריאות הנכונה ולהסתדרות כראוי בגשמיות וברוחניות.
